moral high ground

Deary Diary,

Why wasn't the game sold out last night?  I have the moral high ground right now since I attended Thursday and Friday's games.  Both wins if I do say so myself.

Incidentally, I have a post on my blog about why I hate the Yankees.  It's good fun to hate the Yankees.

Hmm, I need 300 characters to post.  Ok, so do we think Peralta will be able to turn it around or will he languish through the rest of the year?  It's not uncommon for such a thing to happen to a young player, but it'd be nice if he were hitting down the stretch.  He got thrown out twice at 3rd last night.  Both on bad decisions.  Ouch.

Re: moral high ground
Dear Roger's Diary. The Jake will not sell out until either a)fans perceive star power on the team or b)the team proves it is playoff caliber (playoff caliber = can win a playoff series). Until then, fans will focus on their beloved Browns who suck.

Re: moral high ground
Unfortunately, most of what you said is right on the money. This is probably one of the most exciting teams in baseball, and you have bribe people with fireworks and $5 tickets to show up to a weekend series.

Re: moral high ground
It takes time for people to forget the past. Maybe if they win the World Series the fans will show up again.
Current rank is 25th in MLB. Pretty sorry considering the excellent team.

Re: moral high ground
Does anybody know how the TV ratings have been in relation to years past?  That might be a way to isolate the economic issues associated with going to a game at Jacob's field.

Re: moral high ground
i believe tv ratings are up, which says that people are into the team, but don't want to pay to go see them.
or maybe they just can't get enough of that great tv commentary
