Ocker was just on XM 175, and added very little. Further confirmed the deal was going down, but no information on players other than Crisp, Marte, and Mota. He also talked about:
The Tribe's interest in Marte goes back a couple years.
The FO's rather low view of Riske, going back to Riske's struggles (and rough family issues) in early 2004. I don't buy it totally, they seemed to trust him in the crunch last fall.
The Tribe's goal of unloading Arthur Rhodes. Ocker went on an extended rant about Rhodes.
Rehashed the game of Coco Crisp (including saying that he hit "14 or 15" home runs last year. Seriously. How do you not have the exact number right in your head? Your job is to follow this team, and everyone's been talking about Crisp for weeks!).
Referred to Shawn Michaels instead of Jason. Evidently SM is a pro wrestler. Whatever.
Next hour there will be a Boston view on XM.
Update [2006-1-24 15:13:59 by dgcambridge]: Snow provided the Boston view on XM. His basic theme continues to be that Crisp will be a perennial all-star. His other points:
Trade just pending physicals, particularly Mota's elbow, and to a lesser extent his shoulder.
Both front offices on "informational lockdown", so no update from the same six player setup.
Riske was 5th in the league in WHIP for AL relievers. Younger and healthier than Mota.
Tribe doing this deal to keep getting guys with less service time.
Most of talk here in Boston today is about Theo's return.
