Hoynes, yeah I know, is reporting that the trade between the Red Sox and the indians is offical. The deal was about the same as it was before except now the Indians are getting cash and a prospect to be named later. Manny Declareman was not included in the deal. Though I think its ironic that the Indians get a player to be named later since Crisp came from St Louis for Finley as a player to be named later.

ESPN is saying that if Mota goes to the DL this season we get another pitcher. Also the Red Sox sent us some cash. All in all I think it was a good deal

This may be an excellent deal for 2007 and 2008.

However, this trade is not good for 2006.

yeah the paper said that selig had to approve the deal because it was over $1 million in cash (you think shapiro demanded new unmarked 20 dollar bills since this trade appears to be a robbery in our favor?) so that is certainly nice. it will help pay off mota's salary, which is definitely too high for his performance last season and for his arm troubles
