Hollandsworth

CLEVELAND -- Free-agent outfielder Todd Hollandsworth agreed Monday to a minor-league contract with the Cleveland Indians.

 Hollandsworth

Hollandsworth hit .254 with five homers and 35 RBI in 107 games last season for the Chicago Cubs. The 32-year-old was traded to Atlanta on Aug. 29 for two minor-league pitchers.

He played in 24 games for the Braves but was not on the club's postseason roster for the NL playoffs against Houston.

In 2004, Hollandsworth, a .275 career hitter, batted .318 with eight homers and 22 RBI in 57 games for Chicago.

Hollandsworth, originally drafted in the third round of the 1991 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, has also been with Colorado, Texas and Florida. He won the NL rookie of the year award in 1996, when he hit .291 with 12 homers, 59 RBI and 21 steals in 149 games for the Dodgers.

Re: Hollandsworth
I'm a bit suprised that Hollandsworth is "only" 32 years. It seems like he's been around forever.

Re: Hollandsworth
Good backup if somebody gets hurt and is going to be out just a couple of weeks.
