I don't know if anyone saw this. It was great and probably a perfect explanation for his struggles. The discussion focused entirely on his bad mechanics with runners on base. He displayed that Johnson's weight was not distributed on his back leg to load up and how it didn't prevent base runners either (I'm sure Victor had something to do with this). What this showed me is that there is a failure from our coaching staff to indentify and correct common mistakes. also that we need to look at bringing Orel on board. I don't think this is the first oversite that could be easily be corrected by better coaching/teaching. I think we all have witnessed this team's failures in sacrifice bunts, moving runners over, base running, and all around defense. The misconception is that major league players do not need proper instruction. Wrong!!! Just because a guy makes a few million, does not mean he is always or will be sound fundamentally. How long did it take to figure out Sabathia was tipping pitches last year? 2 or 3 smarter plays a game would probably all make us a lot happier.
