40-man moves
The Tribe just outrighted Jake Dittler and Jason Stanford off of the 40-man. The moves essentially mean that the current 40-man roster stands at 38.
Interesting on Dittler, as he won't turn 24 until late November and spent the full season at Buffalo. I believe this means that he has to clear through waivers to be added back into the orgaization.

According to STO - they DID clear waivers!
If I heard the STO announcers correctly, Stanford and Dittler DID clear waivers and are "still under control by the organization."
Meanwhile, Dubois and some others were "called up," but were told not to report. In other words, they officially get the call-up, but the Indians will just finish with the 33 players they already have. I don't know what the reason is for officially calling them up, but not having them report - what advantage does this give the Indians? - but that is what was reported by STO during today's Indians-As game.
Re: According to STO - they DID clear waivers!
I believe both will be exposed to the Rule 5 draft. To which I can only say, good luck keeping one of these guys on your big-league roster for a year!
Re: 40-man moves
"The Cleveland Indians today made several transactions involving the club's 40-man roster, none of which affect the club's active 33-man Major League roster. The Indians today recalled INF MICHAEL AUBREY, OF JASON DUBOIS, INF LOU MERLONI, INF MIKE ROUSE & OF BRAD SNYDER not to report and outrighted RHP JAKE DITTLER & LHP JASON STANFORD off the 40-man onto the AAA Buffalo roster."
I'm not sure what the verbage about the action taken with the rest means...recalled, not to report?
