2007 Schedule
Indians will play Braves and Phillies at home, play at Washington and Florida, don't play Mets.
The number of weekday DAY games has been increased to 8.
All 13 Saturday games are scheduled as night games.
Only 6 games against the Yankees, the games in NY are in the 3rd week of April.
Season again opens in Chicago.
June and July are stacked with home games.
Last home series in September is against Oakland,
then they go on the road to Seattle and KC to end the season.

What jumps out at me is 16 of 20 at home after the All Star Break.
Re: 2007 Schedule
Opening Day
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day
Final regular season game
I can't remember the last time the Indians opened at home. And it has nothing to do with the April climate, as the team opens in a worse city for the second straight season.
Re: 2007 Schedule
I guess MLB didn't listen to Shapiro's request...
Hello everyone,
So much for Shapiro's request to have the Indians start the season at home, though they do start on the Friday of the first week like they did this season. However, if MLB wants the White Sox and Indians to start off the season, why not make the White Sox come here? After all, we started in Chicago in 2006; couldn't they come here to start 2007? After all, as you mentioned Ryan, our climate is no worse than Chicago's, if not better.
You sometimes have to wonder what these MLB schedule makers are thinking when they make up these schedules. Also, when was the last time we were on the road for all those important dates you mentioned?
Re: 2007 Schedule
By the way, we didn't get Opening Day at home, but we did get the first weekend. That might be just as good if not better.

Speaking of Philly, as a fellow Philadelphian Indians fan, if you ever want to get a beer & reminisce about Cory Snyder & Brett Butler, drop me a line or something.

Zempf -- totally off-topic, but can you help me fix up a 16-track reel-to-reel?

Re: 2007 Schedule
That's the second straight year we've gotten that!
Yes, at least we got the first weekend. That's at least two straight years we'll have that (Minnesota in 2006.) At least we don't have to have a 7-10 game road trip to start the year before having our home opener. The first weekend isn't bad for the home opener.
Re: 2007 Schedule
I don't mind that we have an unbalanced schedule. But it doesn't have to be so unbalanced.

Re: 2007 Schedule
You would think this is my first time looking at a schedule. Can't wait to lineup outside Fenway when tickets go on sale.

Re: 2007 Schedule
What stands out most to me is the 7 games v. the Red Sox.
Also, with the unbalanced scheduel, I think the league needs to start placing more divisional games in the last month of the season. It is unfair to make a team from the east have to travel and play games on the west coast the final week of the season.
Another note, the 4th week of the season has the Indians facing 4 teams! I don't think I have seen that in a week that did not involved a make up game.

Re: 2007 Schedule
Note that the Indians have a 4-day All-Star break in 2007.
Re: 2007 Schedule
It's a 20-gam package that you pick all of your games.
A brilliant idea that will prevent those 1:05 PM Tuesday games from working their way into my package.
