Well...that kind of sucked. Apparently CC hasn't quite gotten his post-season jitters out yet. Hopefully he has now. I think most people would concede that for the Tribe to win this series, the best chance of that happening is winning 3 out of the 4 games started by CC and Fausto. With last night's loss, that puts a lot of pressure on the remainder of those outings. The series is far from decided, but it does put a lot of pressure on Fausto Carmona and the offense tonight. We all know what Fausto has done this season and what he did last time out against the Yankees.
But the task won't be easy. Schilling has made 16 career postseason starts and only one of them (2004 ALCS against the Yankees) would be considered a bad outing. He had an unspectacular season and will turn 41 next month, but he shutdown the Angels for 7 innings last week. Also, the two-headed beast of Ortiz and Manny have been in full effect in this post-season. They have combined for 12 hits in 19 at-bats including 4 homeruns. Oh yeah, and they have 16 walks.
Tonight's game is big. A loss wouldn't be fatal, but it would put us on life support. Fausto needs to step up and pitch like he did last week. The offense needs to step up and give Fausto more support than they did last week.
LET'S GO TRIBE!
