Who would you want up?
A little pre-game humor from Curtis Granderson's ESPN chat today
Pete C (Newark De): Down by one, two men on, two outs , bottom of the ninth, who in the game today would you like to see up?Curtis Granderson: Hitting-wise, I'll say Victory Martinez or Casey Blake (out of the two teams playing today). Those guys always seem to come up big with the game on the line.
I'm sure all Indians fans echo this sentiment. Casey Blake is definitely the guy I want up.

Re: Who would you want up?
That walkoff shot Blake hit against DET must have really stayed with him!

Really?
None On - (.308/.382/.517)
Runners On - (.227/.289/.344)
Scoring Position - (.190/.271/.294)
RISP/2 Out - (.163/.226/.302)
Superman : Kryptonite = Blake : Runners on base
Plus, it seems like the closer the runners are to scoring, he gets worse!
Casey is golden with no one on! Remember those two walk off dingers (vs. KC and then DET) in September? No one on.

2005 - (.192/.250/.308)
2004 - (.261/.343/.426) not shabby!
2003 - (.239/.291/.404)

Re: Who would you want up?
i know it's crazy, and i'm (almost) sure it's wrong. and, even if he did, he would just be statistically due (even given his risp stats, etc).
but i cannot shake it.

Re: Who would you want up?
He has had some big hits this year...But the numbers say it all. I agree with Vic, what about Pronk, K-Love, Astrocab, JP, Grady, not in that order necessarily, but good God, send Curtis a link to LGT where he can see Casey's nickname among the masses.

Re: Who would you want up?
Bert Blyleven also declared that the Sox would have to prevent Casey Blake from getting the big hit if Boston were to win this series.
