David Dellucci

I'm worried about Mark Shapiro's comments yesterday regarding Dave Dellucci (and the likelihood of his getting significant AB's in left next year).  The Indians really took off once they put Lofton in left and Cabrera at 2nd.  While Lofton isn't a great player, he brought energy and an aggressive approach which was lacking before.  I don't think bringing back Lofton is an answer, but playing Dellucci (Showalter's protege by the way) isn't either.  I'd rather see them play Choo or Francisco, to see if they can make the transition, or try to get a better player through a trade (maybe involving Lee in some way?).

Shapiro's usually pretty transparent when he makes comments about his plans, so I think he's serious about DD.  Not a good thing.
