Esquire MLB Playoff Blog - Game 2 Recap

Our own Jay Levin and Scott Raab takes on Joba, Fausto, Pettitte's big-game exploits, and bunting:

It is emphatically to take nothing away from Yankee hitters, and in particular from A-Rod, who is the best hitter in the game right now. In the Yankees' last 20 trips to the plate against Carmona, only one ball left the infield. A-Rod is not choking; Carmona really is that good.

Pettitte also deserves a tip of the cap, and I doubt we'll see a ballsier performance than his sixth inning this year. As fans, our tendency is to blame our own players for not coming through, but as often as not, "our" players didn't give it away, "their" player came and took it.
