I realize this is a pretty petty topic, but if the offseason is good for anything, it's good for petty, somewhat meaningless discussions.
The writer who left C.C. off his ballot has been identified...drumroll please:
"Kevin Sherrington of the Dallas Morning News, left Sabathia off his ballot, voting Beckett first, Carmona second, and Minnesota's Johan Santana third."
I did a search of the Dallas Morning News site and could not find any kind of explanation from Sherrington. Too bad.
Also, here is a post from one of the writers who left Beckett off of his ballot, his vote boiled down to the fact that C.C./Lackey/Carmona all had a better percentage of quality starts. Boston fans weren't too happy with this (surprise).
