Drube gets some luv from HT

The Hardball Times' Chris Constancio has identified Drube as one of the top 3 most improved minor league contact hitters.

While it is not exactly 'gushing' praise, and it certainly has to do with him being at a too-advanced level for his age in the years prior, it is nevertheless encouraging to see him recognized for his progress. Hopefully he will maintain his rate of improvement.

Re: Drube gets some luv from HT
The next step will be the hardest yet but my gut says he will become a very solid player ala like Omar.  I do expect him to struggle next year at least early and I feel this is one reason why we need to have a solid off season because his offense may not be good to start.

When need to get off to a fast start or the feeling of 2006 will start to creep back into our heads.  If we don't strengthen our team this off season we will finish third in the division to the Tigers and Twins.  The twins have a CF problem right now but the Red Sox would likely trade them a relief pitcher for Coco.  The twins starting pitching will be if not the best one of the best in the American League.  The bullpen will be solid as always and the hitting will be about the same maybe slightly better as Mauer was hurt quite a bit last year.  The Tigers will be better and adding Rent-A-Wreck will improve their already strong offense.  Their bullpen will be the key to their season but I am sure they will add one or two pieces before the season starts.

Jason Bay, Kelly Shoppach and Dustin Pedroia these are some of my favorite players. LGT resident kinesiologist

If his career actually unfolds like Omar's, then he'll be a pretty bad hitter for the next 5-6 seasons, as Omar was through age 27 or so.

Re: Drube gets some luv from HT
IF we don't improve we will finish third? I don't think so. The Twins would have to greatly improve their offense for that to happen. The Tigers would also have to greatly improve their bullpen. And I mean greatly. They're staring at 2007 all over again.
Gator fans have so much in common with Yankee fans. Minus the history and championships, of course.
