Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced

Well, almost a month later, we have dates to make-up the snowouts.

And, the Indians will now have a 77 game home schedule.

Here's the link from Indians.com.

Make-up Dates:  May 21, June 11, and August 30 (in lieu of a scheduled game against the Twins) at 7:05 p.m at Jacobs Field.

Sept. 26, as part of a traditional double-header IN SEATTLE.

Aug. 30 Twins game rescheduled for Aug. 27, 7:05 p.m.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
I think I gotta commend the Twins' people for rescheduling that game with us to get us another home game makeup here.

Still kinda ticked off about the home game in Seattle thing, though. :\

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
Yep, definitely - especially given that the Twins know that each and every game is likely to make a difference this year.  But it's certainly the right thing to do.

I don't know where the link is - although I'm almost certain someone posted it here earlier this week - but one of the Chicago papers ran a brief story stating that the Cubs were not willing to be equally accommodating in reworking their schedule.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
One more reason I hope the Cubs never reach (much less win) the WS again ever.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
Given their play of late, you won't have to worry too much about it.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
By "of late," do you mean the better part of the past century?

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
This is about as fair as one can make it. The tribe has to play one game in Seattle, but Seattle has to fly three times into Cleveland for 1 game only. Twice from the west coast. That has to be tough.

Major kudos for the Twins, but they were asked less of the Cubs. I'm sure no team was willing to move one of their home games. The tribe has to deal with the logistics, but it should not be that big of a deal as there will be a game on the originally scheduled date (just against a different team).

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
Well, I take your point, but I'm not sure how "fair" it is to lose another home game out of this - logistics notwithstanding.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
For MLB, this is a pretty fair decision. Especially considering that the whole structure of baseball is pretty unfair. Man, I hate the yankees and redsox.

Well, they're just going to have to wear it, and hang with 'em.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
Seattle feels like they get shafted.  I think that means we did as well as could be expected.

If Seattle has its way, I expect in future years Seattle will make 2 trips to Cleveland or come in late May or late June.

Forunately, the twinbill is in September when the rosters are expanded.  If they had lost the September 24 offday as well, the players' union probably would have revolted.  It's a rare opportunity to see 2 games for the price of 1 if you can arrange to be in Seattle.  That's one of the best times of the year there.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
Well, April 6 was available to play one of those games, until the Human Snow Delay ensured it would be unavailable.  So I have little sympathy for the poor unfortunate Mariners.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
I not sure that even Hargrove would now think that move was worth a fourth trip to Cleveland on top on the April, May, and June trips.

Is the April 6 no-decision a "Pyrrhic" victory for Seattle?  If the Indians approach it in the right frame of mind, they will have the upper hand.

This whole seasons is pyrrhic for the Mariners.

Re: Seattle Make-Up Dates Announced
It could have been worse, I guess. The Indians only lose one home game, and the doubleheader is in September, when the rosters are expanded.

Of course, this should never have come to this, but I'll leave that dead horse alone.
