Jake's Start Today

Jake's starting for Lake County today against Delmarva. He's through 5 innings and has given up 5 runs. I have no idea if he'll be coming out for the sixth.

A little further investigation.

One of those five runs is unearned.

He's struck out 5 batters.

He's recorded 9 groundouts and no flyouts.

He gave up one run in the first when Robert Andrews reached on an error and then stole second and third. He then scored on a groundout.

He went 1-2-3 in the second with two K's and a groundout.

He went 1-2-3 in the third with two groundouts and a K.

Things got hairy in the fifth:
He got a groundout to start the inning. One away.

Two straight singles, men on first and second. Both described as flyballs.

Gets the groundball to the SS but only gets the force at second. 2 away. Men on first and third.

Gives up two more fly ball singles, scoring two runs.

Wild pitch moves the runners up to second and third.

Single scores two more.

Wild pitch moves runner to second.

Groundout to end the inning.

Jake came back in the fifth to pitch around a double. He got some help when McBride threw out a runner.

Probably should've just pointed everyone here but I got started and decided not to stop.

It's now been refreshed and Jake did not come out for the sixth.

I'm not too worried. He gave up only singles for the most part (one double al day), he didn't get any double plays but did get lots of fielder's choice, and he got strikeouts. He also ended up pitching in higher pressure situations because of stolen bases.

I'm probably being optimistic because I want him back but I hope today was enough.
