Indians vs. Marlins 6/14/07

Ive been an Indians fan my entire life and last night was my first "real" Indians game. Ive lived in Miami my entire life so its obvious the Indians dont always play the Marlins in Miami. It was freaking awesome!!

Best thing about seeing the Indians in person last night:

  1. Victor's homerun - it was a thing of beauty.
  2. Aaroon Boone's error- i had just finished telling a friend about Boone's propensity for shitt fielding and sure enough Boone didnt disappoint.
  3. Getting the win and winning the series - hopefully this ends the shitty week they had.
  4. Jason Stanford - I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Great performance, congrats to him.
Worst things about seeing the Indians in person last night:
  1. Hafner did not play- I was hoping for a pinch hit appearance but that didnt happen.
  2. So-called Marlins fan hassling me about the Indians logo being "racist" - I just want to watch a baseball game. I do not want to talk/hear about politics. Just let me enjoy my first indians game in peace.
Again it was awesome to finally see the tribe in person. I had not seen them live since a 1993 exhibition vs the expansion Marlins down in homestead. Hopefully, they'll come back to Miami soon.

Thanks fellow Tribe fans for letting me share my experience with you. Go Tribe.

Re: Indians vs. Marlins 6/14/07
I love hearing comments about what it was like at the games. I don't get to go to many, so it's fun to hear about them.

That said, man, it being just baseball has very little to do with whether or not the image is actually racist. (which, as we've established on this site earlier, is up for debate amongst Indians fans.)

whether chief wahoo is racist, or if it matters if he's racist?

Chief Wahoo being racist.  I was joking.  No one wants to discuss that.

Yeah, that's why I was a little surprised at the comment. I know we pretty much ran that topic into the ground earlier.

I'm glad I missed this debate.

Re: Indians vs. Marlins 6/14/07
that wasnt really the point of the post. I was just saying that I was looking forward to going to my first game. I went there, and while I was there I wanted to enjoy Baseball, not politics. Aside from that, it was a great experience.

Re: Indians vs. Marlins 6/14/07
I'm aware it wasn't the point of the post. You still said it and its poor logic still bothered me. Sorry.

I fully understand wanting to enjoy baseball and not have to think about other things, but that's not really what you said.

Didn't mean to jump all over you, but it's apparently something that gets me a little bit cranky.
