Dump Trot

At the end of the Indians 2006 season their was so hope for the future. They had two young outfielders in Shin-Soo Choo and Franklin Gutierrez to battle out in Spring Training for the right field duties. During the offseason the Indians signed Trot Nixon, eliminating any of the playing time that Choo or Gutierrez would see, unless Nixon was injured.

The Indians now almost got swept by the Nationals, with the offense doing almost nothing. Trot's now batting .241 with 2 homers and 25 RBI. The Indians need to shake up their offense, and they need to ditch Trot and let the young guys in Choo and Gutierrez play in right field full time. If Choo or Gutierrez goes on tear than that player will have the full time right field duties and the offense will have a boost. The Nixon signing never made any sense to me and still does't. Not when you have two young prospects, three counting Ben Francisco in the minor leagues. Bottom line, the offense needs a boost, dump the old guy and bring in some youth.
