Since Jay hasn't posted it yet ....

and it is nearly Septmeber, I did my best attempt at putting together a Prospect list.

Trying to stick to Jay's qualifications, the following prospects seem to be on the radar.

AAA Buffalo

Ben Francisco 25, OF, bats RH - 887 OPS, 27 2B, 11 HR, 47 RBI, 35 BB, 64 K in 360 AB with Buffalo; 858 OPS, 3 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 3 BB, 14 K in 44 AB with Tribe; a fine year all the way around; should stick as the #4 next year or be dealt on off-season. Major & minor league stats

Andy Marte 23, 3B bats RH - 773 OPS, 14 2B, 16 HR, 58 RBI, 21 BB, 60 K in 327 AB with Buffalo; injuries cost him a shot with the Tribe this year, nothing too exciting about his 3rd go-round at AAA, hot lately though. Major & minor league stats

Brad Snyder 25, OF bats LH - 803 OPS, 12 2B, 10 HR, 35 RBI, 12 SB, 36 BB, 91 K in 259 AB with Buffalo; too many Ks really. Minor league stats.

Shin Soo Choo 25, OF bats LH - 656 OPS, 8 2B, 22 RBI, 8 SB, 18 BB, 32 K in 184 AB with Buffalo; injuries have shot this season for him, had a good start with Tribe earlier this year, 644 OPS, but 5 R and 5 RBI in only 17 AB. Major & minor league stats.

Asdrubal Cabrera 21, SS/2B/3B bats SH - 837 OPS, 23 2B, 54 RBI, 23 SB, 45 BB, 42 K in 368 AB at Akron; 745 OPS, 3 2B, 2 SB, 2 BB, 8 K in 38 AB at Buffalo; and a 755 OPS, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 1 BB, 7 K in 53 AB with Tribe; so far so good, climbed the charts very fast this year, Seattle will rue letting this kid go. Major & minor league stats.

Aaron Laffey 22, SP throws LH - 7.01 K/9 in 90.2 IP, 3.26 K/BB ratio in Buffalo; 6.17 K/9 in 35 IP, 3.43 K/BB ratio in Akron; 3 so-so starts with Tribe so far. Major & minor league stats.

Adam Miller 22, SP throws RH - 9.1 K/9 in 62.1 IP, 3.0 K/BB ratio in Buffalo; injuries have hurt his progression, needs to get BB rate down. Minor league stats.

Edward Mujica 23, RP throws RH - 10.12 K/9 in 34.2 IP, 4.88 K/BB ratio in Buffalo; been beaten up pretty good in majors this year but that could be from extreme underuse, still young and projectionable. Major & minor league stats.

Jensen Lewis 23, RP, throws RH - 8.31 K/9 in 13 IP, 3.0 K/BB ratio in Buffalo; 11.31 K/9 in 39 IP, 3.77 K/BB ratio in Akron; 11.15 K/9 in 15.1 IP, 3.17 K/BB ratio with Tribe; could be a good set-up guy for us. Major & minor league stats.

Jeremy Sowers 24, SP, throws LH - 5.76 K/9 in 90.2 IP, 2.52 K/BB ratio in Buffalo; much improved from his Tribe numbers, but more improvement still needed or else he gets knocked off. Major & minor league stats.

AA Akron

Trevor Crowe 23, OF bats SH - 692 OPS in 483 AB, 22 2B, 4 3B, 5 HR, 26 SB, 60 BB, 63 K; with his speed, not sure how he hit into 14 DP. Minor league stats.

Jordan Brown 23, 1B bats LH - 885 OPS in 455 AB, 32 2B, 10 HR, 72 RBI, 56 BB, 51 K. Minor league stats.

Chuck Lofgren 21, SP throws LH - 7.69 K/9 and 1.8 K/BB ratio in 139 IP in 25 GS; made a spot start in Buffalo too (got ripped). Minor league stats.

Scott Lewis 23, SP throws LH - 8.09 K/9 and 3.5 K/BB ratio in 124 IP in 23 GS. Minor league stats.

Jeff Stevens 23, RP throws RH - 11.8 K/9 in 45 IP at Akron and 9.51 K/9 at Kinston; a solid year so far, he is a reliever though. Minor league stats.

A+ Kinston

John Drennen 21, OF bats LH - 705 OPS in 481 AB; very high K rate so far - 102. Minor league stats.

Beau Mills 21, 1B/DH bats LH - only 28 AB AT Mahoning, 553 OPS; at Lake County had 768 OPS in 177 AB, 12 2B, 5 HR, 36 RBI, 38 K; so far at Kinston (A+) a 1014 OPS in only 20 AB, 5 of his 6 hits have been extra bases. Minor league stats.

A- Lake County
Nick Weglarz 19, OF bats LH - 891 OPS in A-; high Ks 125, but also high BBs 81 in 424 AB, 26 2B, 22 HR, 80 RBI. Minor league stats.

Jared Goedart 22, 2B/3B bats RH - 1190 OPS in A-, 784 in A+; more BB than K in A-; a bit old for Jay's list though. Minor league stats.

Matt McBride 20, C bats RH - 778 OPS in A-, low K rate 54 in 414 Abs, 63 RBI, 34 2B. Minor league stats.

Michael Pontius 19, RP, throws RH - 10.29 K rate in 21 IP in A-, and 12.54 K rate in 9.1 IP at GCL; very fringe prospect since he is not a starter. Minor league stats.

I avoided the GCL and DSL teams. One, the DSL isn't loaded on Baseball Cube. Two, those guys are just too young to project.

Other intriguing years this year were by: John Van Every (27-838 OPS-AAA, 999 OPS-AA), Wes Hodges (22-827 OPS-A+)

I did not list Josh Barfield (24), Franklin Gutierrez (24), or Fausto Carmona (23) as I believe they are on the 25 man roster to stay.

So if I had to rank the "prospects", it would go like this:

Asdrubal Cabrera
Ben Francisco
Andy Marte
Adam Miller
Aaron Laffey
Nick Weglarz
Beau Mills
Jensen Lewis
Edward Mujica
Shin Soo Choo
Chuck Lofgren
Jordan Brown
Scott Lewis
Trevor Crowe
Jared Goedart
Brad Snyder
Jeremy Sowers
Jeff Stevens
John Drennen
Matt McBride
Michael Pontius

I was a bit shocked we have very little RH starters in the pipeline prospect wise. Also, the lower minors are stocked with LH hitters, but not so many RH hitters.

FYI, I used the following for the [qualifications http://letsgotribe.com/story/2006/2/22/20946/7564]
