LGT in the DC area?

So I got the following voicemail from one of my buddies last night:

"I'm just calling to concede defeat.  Best of luck to you and the Tribe in the playoffs.  Although I'll probably be rooting for the Cubs."

Needless to say, he's a Tigers fan (we both grew up in Michigan).

I've been lurking on LGT all season - I know, shame on me - figuring that I'd jinx things if I got too excited about this team.  Stupid on my part, but rooting for Cleveland sports teams since the '80s, I understand the importance of not crossing JOBU.  With the magic number at 3, I figure I don't have to worry quite so much.

Anyway, I was curious whether there are any LGT folks in the Washington, DC area.  I'm getting geared up for the playoffs (as we all are), and was wondering whether people were going to meet at a local drinking establishment to watch (thx manchildinbeantown for the idea).  I think it'd be great to catch the games with some truly knowledgeable Tribe fans.  Let me know.

This is an excellent site (best fans in MLB), and I look forward to contributing.  I'll do my best not to say anything stupid, or wax poetic about the importance of Wins or Batting Avg.  :)

Re: LGT in the DC area?
I made a diary about this a few entries down: http://www.letsgotribe.com/story/2007/9/18/91819/3895

Suffice it to say that there are plenty of us here. We got together a decent sized crew (myself, homelytourist, steinberg and mjmarble) at Buffalo Billiards the other day to watch game two of the Tigers series. It was good times, and I know I'm definitely down for getting together some more, perhaps on a regular basis for the playoffs.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Of course - it figures that I'd overlook that thread.  Didn't mean to open a new diary.  My bad.

I'll keep my eye out for more announcements.  I work in NW, so it's pretty easy for me to meet up anywhere.  Buffalo Billiards would be walking distance if it worked out well for you guys on Tuesday.

And the Browns Backers meet at Lucky Bar?  WTF?!?!  How have I lived here for 4 years and not known that?  I've been driving up to Germantown!

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Yeah, Buffalo Billiards is an awesome place to catch a game on weekdays. I really liked the atmosphere, and it's very centrally located.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Is that the Seattle game? If so, probably not. I need to be at a computer for that one.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Have we established an etiquette for Tuesday (not that pirates need etiquette...arrrr, matey)?  I want to register over there, but I don't know if I should use my usual name, a thin disguise, or a pirate version.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
I don't know. Last I heard it was I guess a free-for-all, but I think it'd be cool if we just stuck with our names or "LGT" followed by some permutation of our names. Like I was thinking about just doing "LGTurk."

Re: LGT in the DC area?
This is what I did.

I've also just realized that I might not be able to make the raid.  I'll see what I can do, but real life is just a pisser sometimes.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
By the way, we are talking about LL, not USSM, right?  Don't want to be the only pirate on the ship.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
yes, by the way, anyone else not been able to get the confirmation email?  they aren't screening are they?

Re: LGT in the DC area?
I got mine, and my username is as suggested above, so if they are screening, they're doing a poor job of it.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Well... if enough LGT people decide to go, I'll meet you all there.  Otherwise, my wife will probably want to go watch the game in Cleveland Park (it's closer to our place.)

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Cleveland Park would work fine with me too.  Which place?  Atomic?  4 P's (or whatever they're calling it now)?

Re: LGT in the DC area?
The Cleveland Park Bar & Grill would be a real good venue for a day game.  I'm told they have a nice roof deck.  It's nice for me, because it's not very far from where I live.
This place has its drawbacks.  It can get a little crowded at night, and it's not cheap.  How should I put this?... It also not exactly a dudes joint, in the way that Buffalo Billiards is, so violent hi-fives and demonstrative cursing are to be kept to a minimum.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Not that anyone cares but I am out for the Seattle series, the West Coast start plus the fact that I have to be at work at 6AM each day means I will be watching those en mi casa.

Re: LGT in the DC area?
I know this is kind-of last minute, but my wife (Spain's only Indians fan) and I are going to Buffalo Billiards to watch the game tonight.  Anyone else from LGT going to be there?

Re: LGT in the DC area?
Weds evening for "home" game 1 vs. Seattle, 7:05, Buffalo Billiards?  I had hoped that would be Sabathia's last regular season start, but it sounds like the rotation is being tweaked.
