Rocket Fuel Was Lidocaine and B-12

In excerpts of the 60 Minutes interview, Clemens admits he was injected with drugs by Brian McMcNamee, but he claims that they were lidocaine and B-12.

The AP story is here.

How stupid do Clemens and his lawyers think the American people are?

For that matter how stupid do you at LGT think the American people are?

For that matter what do you think?

So Clemens thinks the same thing Bonds tried will work for him?

For research on the profound depths of American stupidity, consult H.L. Mencken and P.T. Barnum. Obviously, Clemens' lawyers have already done so.

If this is the best they can do (the lawyers, I mean), I think Clemens is in big trouble.

This quote...

"We're having to try this thing in the court of public opinion, where there are no rules," Hardin said.

..pretty much says it all.

Re: Rocket Fuel Was Lidocaine and B-12
Wouldn't it be easier for Clemens just to categorically deny ever being injected with anything?  I think people would be much more receptive to the kind of denial.

The whole "I was injected with something, but I swear it was bull semen!" just makes it seem like you have something to hide.  Either way its his word versun Mcnamee's

I don't even want to think about how one would go about being injected with bull semen ....

Re: Rocket Fuel Was Lidocaine and B-12
Wow, that is weak. I use Lidocaine and I somehow don't see myself being better than I am now in 20 years.
I swear, next year is it.

I know, right? I wish at least they told me they were taking something exotic rather than OTC supplements. Then I could give up the false hope that my fish oil and soy lecithin are gonna give me some serious pipes in time for spring break.

Am not buying it in the least. I never believed the flaxseed oil from Bonds, and this won't fly either.

I actually have never had a problem with Bonds, but have always despised Roger. Mostly from the bat throwing incident and the countless head-hunting escapades.

Any body here watch the Clemens interview on 60 minutes?  Are you not convinced now that he used.

A) Jerk
B) Seemed like he was going to break something
C) Called McNamee a liar
D) Blamed America for his troubles

Re: Rocket Fuel Was Lidocaine and B-12
In another diary, I said that Clemens wouldn't sue MLB or Mitchell because he couldn't prove actual malice under NYT v. Sullivan and that he wouldn't sue McNamee because it would amount to throwing his money away on a suit against a dead beat.

I was half right.  Clemens sued McNamee for defamation Sunday night.  This is, if nothing else forum shopping on Clemens part - beating McNamee to the punch on any defamation suit for Clemens calling McNamee a liar on 60 Minutes.

You can read the whole Complaint here, but the most interesting part is what seems to be a direct quote from McNamee about how federal investigators pressured him to finger Clemens.

It reads like the transcript of a recorded statement, so I wonder if there's audio to back this up.
