Why This Award Isn't Named After Derek Jeter Is Beyond Me
But The Captain wasn't even nominated for the 2008 Pepsi Clutch Performer Award.
Cliff Lee is among the nominees however. So, in the words of the Greater Chicago Democratic Party - vote early and vote often!

We can’t have this named after him, because it’s already too much that the BBWAA gave him that undeserved MVP award in ’06.
Uhh, are you talking about Jeter? Because he didn’t win the MVP in 2006 — Moreneau did.

I thought the sarcasm was obvious. I find it ironic that Jeter gets called overrated, maybe rightfully so, but got shafted on the MVP in ’06.
Every year from 1996-2004, the MVP was awarded to a player in the AL West. Three, maybe four are legit. In all others, there were more deserving candidates in the East, Central, and Division A-Rod. I don’t mean this to suggest that there is a west coast bias in the MVP voting process, I just found it kind of interesting.
Oh, OK. I wasn’t sure what you meant — yeah, Jeter should have won that year. Or Santana. Or Mauer. Basically, Morneau was the third best Twin in 2006 and got the MVP.

and, can we do something about this stupid ad that plays windows sounds even on a mac?
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
so glad that wasn’t a bug or something on my end.
