Game Thread: ALCS Game One
Go Rays. Now, for the 75-word filler:
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays announced their roster for the American League Championship Series and, as expected, they went with 11 pitchers and 14 position players, which translated to right-hander Edwin Jackson being added to the roster and outfielder Eric Hinske being removed.
Having enough arms in the event of a pitching catastrophe in a seven-game series became the overriding reason for going with 11 hurlers.

the Tampa field looks like it is made of microsuede (i’ve been couch shopping). you would think that’d be slippery
I still find the Frank TV commercials funny. And those that aren’t funny aren’t annoying. Am I insane?

Yea, I just don’t know where students live. I am an MBA student at Case, but I live on the west side.
Being around Case, its hard to figure out where the dorms are. Or where the classes are, for that matter. Everything seems to run together.
Yeah. Do you know where Severance is? The intersection of Adelbert and Euclid? The main quad starts on the southeast corner of that.
Yea, the old Case Institute of Technology, right? Most of my time is spent over at PBL, on Bellflower. That would be a great area to live in, with Little Italy and the museums and whatnot.
Yup, it’s the old CIT quad.
Across the street from PBL is the Mather Quad, which is where all the language/humanities classes are (mostly). And actually, where I live is about 5 min from Little Italy, too.
I had a buddy that went to Case Law. He lived in the same area. Do you like it? We never really found the right places.

I love it. Among students the trend is apparently to hate South Side after living here for a year, but I can’t imagine why. You’re so much closer to campus than the rest of the housing. The Village is helluh expensive, anyway.
We always just went up to coventry. There are shuttles and such.

i guess i should have jumped into this conversation instead of my own lonely post at the bottom. while it may be because i can walk (or because i’m not a college kid anymore), i prefer the lee road bars more than coventry.

Doesn’t it seem like a questionable decision for Charles Schwab to be sponsoring so many things? I mean, if I were to talk to Chuck, wouldn’t he just tell me to keep my money in bonds or money markets?
I don’t get these people telling me now is the time to buy. The time to buy is in six months when it finally looks like we’ve found the bottom.
