A Third Starter is the Indians Top Priority
There's a lot of new information in this piece by Terry Pluto such as:
- The Indians now view a third starter as the top priority
- The Indians are leaning towards giving the closer position to Jensen Lewis rather than sign a FA/Trade for a closer
- And the Front Office believes that Huff might be able to handle pitching 3rd in the rotation next year

Correction.
The FO believes Huff can pitch in the rotation next year, but they didn’t mention him as the 3rd starter.

Your tags bore me.
I’ve been saying all along, this whole acquiring a closer business will be moot when Meloan or Miller are locking it down in the summer.

Sign Lowe + acquire above-average defensive 2B = one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.

“Stomp is unlikely to be worse than any free-agent closer we could afford,” or “The Indians acknowledge the blindingly obvious market reality.”

I think we should sign a free agent pitcher to a Kevin Millwood-type deal. It doesn’t matter who the pitcher is, as long as it’s a Kevin Millwood-type deal. Those types of deals always work out fabulously for the Indians.
The best thing probably is to hit [Grady] 2nd -- Jay

And after he retires, he’ll be playing Falstaff in dinner theatres all over the DR.

I was thinking we could play Milwood at 2B and slide Peralta over to third.

I believe there was a strong movement to place “K*evin Millwood type” in the same boat as non-game thread swearing. You must have missed it. link

Hey, Terry answered the Jensen question! Ever since Mario told that story about Jensen and the girls last year, I thought he had the mental composure necessary to close.
Hey, you showed up to link to your own story. Nice!
