I'm bored and I wanna watch some playoff baseball. I've got a fridge full of GLBC. Let's get wasted and roast the Senior Circuit.

by bewwolv on Oct 9, 2008 8:02 PM EDT   0 recs

Well I realized a lot of the stuff in my fridge was stuff I bought for a friend, so I can drink it. THe stuff of mine is warm, so I got some Nosferatus chillin’ in the freezer and also some Thirsty Dog Raspberry Ale. You get my e-mail?

What if the beer says Oktoberfest on it?

Steel Nick

by nickjs21 on Oct 9, 2008 9:16 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i got close to drinking a domestic sixer of oktoberfest … i think it was Sam Adams …. then I got a sixer of Paulaner instead

Anti-Ben Fran before it was cool.

by Gradyforpresident on Oct 9, 2008 9:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Sam Adams Oktoberfest isn’t bad. I have a few six-packs of that this Fall

by APV on Oct 9, 2008 9:18 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yea, I did. Haven’t had a chance to respond yet, though.

by bewwolv on Oct 9, 2008 8:32 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

So speaking of beer.

I was at a friend’s house a couple of nights ago and he had just got some of the new Budweiser American Ale. I had been silently mocking it every time a commercial came on; No way it lives up to all the microbrews out there. He offered me one and I took it. I figured it would likely taste no different than maybe a Killians. A Sam Adams Light if they had really gone all out.

But to tell you the truth, I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted like a real, honest beer. Has anyone else tried one? I’ll be bouncing in and out of the thread but I hope someone else has.

Not yet, and I wasn’t planning on it. Might now, per your suggestion though.

It was also only 7 bucks. For the taste— As shy as I am in admitting it —it’s a pretty decent value.

Drinkability really is the best word to describe Bud Light. It may be tasteless, but unlike Miller Lite, it is at least drinkable enough that you can get drunk off it.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Oct 9, 2008 8:23 PM EDT   0 recs

hmm….out of a can I think I prefer Bud Light. Out of a tap my preference leans towards Miller Lite, I think…

by APV on Oct 9, 2008 8:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Bud Light is surprisingly better out of the can. That’s what I’m drinking now while my Nosferatu chills. Dunno why, but I literally can’t drink Miller Lite without gagging.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Oct 9, 2008 8:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

On first read I thought you said “gaggling”…and I laughed. I don’t mind Miller Lite. It is Busch and all of its varieties that I hate.

by APV on Oct 9, 2008 8:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

DOn’t mind Busch either. I can drink pretty much any crap beer, even Natty Ice, without flinching. But I balk at Miller lite like I’ve had some kind of awful experience with it and, surprisingly, I haven’t.

Beast! Woo!

Steel Nick

by nickjs21 on Oct 9, 2008 8:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I actually just had Beast for the first time the other day. Beast Light actually. Godawful, especially for chugging. But still better than Miller Lite.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Oct 9, 2008 8:32 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I don’t mind the Beast (it was my college’s beer of choice), except Beast Ice. Even the smell of that stuff seems to give me a headache.

by APV on Oct 9, 2008 8:33 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Beast was my first beer.

And it was a common argument amongst friends of mine: I think “Beast” only refers to Milwaukee’s Best Light. So saying Beast Light may, in that case, be like saying ATM Machine.

For all the cases and cases of Beast I’ve drank back in the day, I never saw a regular Milwaukee’s Best.

Steel Nick

by nickjs21 on Oct 9, 2008 8:37 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen cans of Beast…but in my day they were Beast White (Beast Lite – white can), Beast Black (Ice – black can), and the rarely consumed in my area, Beast Red (Beast Premium).

by APV on Oct 9, 2008 8:39 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I’ve ran afoul of all of them.

Steel Nick

That is damning and I love it. I often find myself thinking I’d make one hell of a sporstwriter simply because I would bother to take the time to, ya know, look stuff up.

Google’s new browser

Gracias gentlemen. how is it?

by bewwolv on Oct 9, 2008 9:18 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

It’s okay. Pretty simple. Some of my nerdier friends like it a lot more than me. I can’t Stumble on it.

I would have said on pitching matchups alone, the Phillies had the edge tonight and the Dodgers had the edge for the next two games. So the Phillies should probably want to win this one.

Hey, something to read while nothing’s happening:
Tango is polling for the Most Outstanding Player and Pitcher of 2008. Pujols ran away with the Player award, and now Sizemore is leading the way for second place. I figured Sabathia would be leading pitchers, but he’s trailing Lee by a slim margin (and leading Lincecum by an even slimmer one).
