Woodzoski (The Close)
I hope it's not in poor taste to link this (though I don't think I've ever done so on my own behalf), but I thought that the LGTers might be interested in this case of (what is hopefully) mistaken identity.

I’m not convinced. Are you positive that photo isn’t Wood?

The eyes really do look like Borowski, but the bone structure and skin tone (could be shifted by printing press) just aren’t doing it for me.

The PD did use a different picture of Kerry Wood the next day.
It takes a major screw up to somehow run a the wrong headshot considering that it was taken in 2005 or earlier. The logistics of digging up the wrong jpg are a mystery to me.
I’m a big fan of Paul’s site, so I’m not just popping off here. I e-mailed the PD on Saturday and haven’t heard back or have I seen a correction in the paper. I also scoured the internet a bit for an old Cubs pic of JoBo in Cubs gear before I commented.
I’m pretty sure the above pic is a photoshop version of Wood in a Tribe uni as he has yet to actually don one.

Interestingly, they ran a picture of a person they identified as “Corey Maggette” on yesterday’s basketball page…who was actually Stephen Jackson. This morning, they made the correction and showed a picture of Maggette.
Nothing yet on the wrong Wood pic from Saturday.
Don’t ask me why this bothers me so…

Well the the good news for you is that this really bothers me too. Don’t let my wife know I’ve spent time worrying about this. It would be the final nail in the “you’re obsessed with baseball” coffin.

Hey Hoynsie, you work for a bunch of water heads.

Simple explanation. Right before the photo was taken, Kerry walked into a beehive. So there was some swelling. Then, they told him just the simple act of sitting down tore a hamstring. Hence the wide-eyed look.

Just to be clear on site policy, there is nothing wrong with doing a FanShot to one’s own site, as long as the linked material is appropriate and of interest to LGTers.

Also, for Paul in particular, if his site had a FanShot feature, I would do a FanShot over there for everything I ever posted.

Thanks, I didn’t want to involve myself in any sort of improper conduct – but thought that the peeps here would enjoy it. And thanks for the blanket statement on my behalf as well.
I literally have no idea how to do much more on my site than write things and post pictures.
It’s minimalistic, but all I need. Isn’t there something called an RSS feed or something like that?

Yeah. I subscribe to your site on RSS.

The Diatribe is pure hilarity, but with plenty of insight, too.

And I also just spent 10 minutes explaining why this is hilarious to the non-Indians fan who had the misfortune of being next to me when I saw it.

I find myself doing that type of thing a lot.
