Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs

Yes, you read that right. According to TrueHoop, the Spurs studied our beloved Tribe's minor league system before implementing their D-League team.

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-30-40/Lots-of-Smart-People-in-Boston.html

No word in the article on whether they've created a computer database called... CourtVision?

Quite a feather in the organization's cap when teams from other sports are emulating what you've done. This makes the Cavs being swept in the Finals a bit more palatable.

Go Cavs! Go Tribe!

Ooh, whopped by 30 points at home by a team with a 9-13 road record - impressive!  I can hear the sweet sound of those trade demands now.

I love the ongoing "mine is bigger" here. You guys need to take pictures of the six pack exchange at the end of the year.
I swear, next year is it.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
Your voodoo skills are amazing. You've knocked out just about half the team!

(I think LBJ's trade demand was not joining the team huddle at the start of the 4th.)

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
Somehow I knew you'd be gloating that loss last night.

That was an ugly one for sure, but if they somehow pull off a win tonite in Orlando, that would be a 2-2 record with 4 of their normal 8 guys in the rotation out with injuries. I'll take it.

Anyways, that game last nite was depressing .. Eric Snow should just be cut. He cannot hit the rim on a wide open 18 foot jumpshot. Just pathetic.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
How about a 7-point win on the road against the current #3 seed? We're only 2 games behind them now.

Larry "Smooth" Hughes goes for 40, after being properly motivated by LeBron.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
I thought ESPN had a typo when I saw the scroll of Hughes, 40 points. What a complete shock. Hope this is a kickstart for him for the rest of the season.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then - just a statistical anomaly.  Don't worry come play-off time Larry'll be chokin' like a tear-gassed hippie.

Here you go chuck, another reason to hate LeBron.

Just because he hasn't teamed with Progressive is another reason to hate on him, right?

Justin Kubatko, who is mentioned in that article, teaches statistics at OSU, I had him in the spring. The guy is a dead ringer for Sasha Pavlovic, they could be twins.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, or if anyone's interested, but Athletics Nation launched the new SBN format... so a peak into our collective future:

I saw this on Southsidesox, actually.  I visit their site regularly and have for a while.  Living here during the progression from 05 (our collapse, their [lucky] ascent) to now (we're primed to contend, their luck has run out) has been extremely, extremely pleasurable for me.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
The new platform enables "universal" user ID's for all SBN sites -- and you can "claim" your old site ID's and merge them into a single new one.

Those of you who cherish your specific ID might want to go claim it via the link in that article.  There is no seniority system, it's first-claim-first serve.

Kos, if you're reading this, I somehow think you won't be able to keep yours ... though who knows, maybe "the big Kos" hasn't registered in the non-beta site yet.

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
but the new universal one doesn't work here till LGT upgrades, right?

Re: Tribe chain studied by the S.A. Spurs
Cheat, from SSS seems to think there will be some kind of "seniority" or "legacy" system, Jay:

AN also mentions the idea of some type of
system, according to this site "fanpost" (the new word for "diary") from Trei:

"We tried to be as fair as possible about deciding who gets to keep which name using a formula that takes into account length of membership, amount of activity and how recently you've been active."

May the Tribe be great in 2008! :-)

I was able to keep my name on all of the sites. I am guessing that means that someone else already tried to claim indiansfan.
I swear, next year is it.

Question about registering!
I just tried to register "indiansfan" at AN for the new SN network, but supposedly, that name has already been taken.  Or is it because my old account is still active?  Not sure.

If I need to change it, any suggestions on what my new username should be?  :-)

May the Tribe be great in 2008! :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Hello everyone,

I appreciate all the suggestions - thanks!

I got a good chuckle out of "justmy2cents" - that might be a unique name.  :-)  "IHaveAWeatherRadio" also brought a good chuckle - thanks Andrew!

"QuietMan" also brought a smile.  :-)

I like the others as well, especially "i-fan," "JoeIndiansfan," and "Tribefan."

I'll think about it - you guys will know about which one I choose when I post on the new format.

Again, thanks for all the suggestions - if you have more, keep them coming!  :-)

May the Tribe be great in 2008! :-)

I got the news of Hughes' 40 here.  I was stunned.  I can't believe that guy.

I'm thinking about changing my name. Gahnki was just some gibberish I typed in. I kinda like the sound of it though. Seems exotic.

Dude, that's like me not using drerikbrady, or Andrew not using afh4, or Dean not using talonk, or Jay not using Jay...ooo, you better hurry Jay.  I've locked mine up.
