Game Thread: March 15, 2008

I guess everyone's getting a little sick of Spring Training....well not I!!!

Night game against the Mets, Laffey with the start and we'll see Sowers later. Dellucci still resting from those tired forearms that plague him.

Boxscore

Holy smokes look at Laffey go through 3 innings....our feline friend better come to play in his next outing.Jamie Carroll with another hit tonight! And J-Mike continuing to inflate his trade value! Woohoo!

Re: Game Thread: March 15, 2008
Here's the bottom of the 4th so far:

Wright with a base hit to right past a diving Garko. Went to second on a tag-up after a deep flyout to Gutz...Gutz was drifting to the ball and didn't seem entirely ready to throw it to second.

Easley with a walk after an 11-pitch atbat. Fouled a ton of pitches to the backstop.

Yea baseball!  I'm tired of talking about real life and why all of today's movies are bad.

See, this is a preview of this year's WS.

Re: Game Thread: March 15, 2008
Oh oh. The "Live" scoreboard is updating very slowly for the bottom of the 4th. That usually indicates a long inning!

Re: Game Thread: March 15, 2008
Casanova crushes a 3-2 pitch to left to drive in Wright. Nice cutoff by Michaels to keep Easley at 3rd.

Ground ball to Cabrera, flip for the force at 2nd. Onto the 5th we go. And I'm out for dinner.

Re: Game Thread: March 15, 2008
Good to see Sowers and Laffey both put together nice outings. A solid outing from Lee in his next start would really put me at ease.

And did anyone get a visual on Marte's three strikeouts? Or Gutz's three for that matter? Or Carroll and Astro's respective errors?

Re: Game Thread: March 15, 2008
I was speeding through the game on my DVR, but I seem to remember Marte having the fastball thrown by him a few times tonight.  He was not alone there.  Fifteen K's tonight, though two were by pitchers.

Gutz had a lot of problems with the sinking fastball down and in.  One was a slider down and away, I believe.

Carroll's error was a hard-hit one hopper that you either come up with or you don't. Cabrera's was a throwing error. Looked like he sat back on the ball and just didn't get enough on it.  Also looked like Garko should've picked it.
