Around SBN: Chan Sung Jung Wins Thriller Over Dustin Poirier

Jealousy is...

Clicking over to let's go tribe and seeing dozens of comments on all the front page items, if only because the Tigers blog I read (Bless You Boys, also on the SB Nation network) is far less trafficked.

This is really just a test of the SBN upgrade's newly enabled ability to easily join in on other sites' conversations, as opposed to the previous scheme where you had to join each blog discretely in order to post.

That said, I look forward to the '08 season, with the Tigers and Indians battling it out for AL Central Supremacy, and look forward to interacting with you guys as the season progresses.

Welcome. You may continue to feel pangs of jealousy as the season progresses. Do not be alarmed. Let the calm, warming waters of Indians Baseball take control of your body.

Do not be alarmed - I had a severe flashback to "Two Tribes" from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Might I suggest a Travis Fryman avatar?

Are we supposed to post what jealousy is?

This is jealousy:

Of course, so is this:

That's Grilli, for the uninitiated.

You've really started to up the ante on this "A picture is worth a thousand words" thing.

Being a tribe fan, banished to Northern New England, I have to share this classic bit of baseball jealousy I saw today. Girl had a T-shirt with a picture of johnny damon on it, wearing a baseball hat with a "J". Caption read: Looks like Jesus, Throws like Mary, Loyal as Judas. Red Sox Nation doesn't let go very easily.

I think Johnny Damon angst is the funniest angst in all of professional sports.

Jealousy is a little different than schaudenfreud, but is there anyone else hoping that Jarr Jurrjens throws 7 innings of no hit ball tomorrow night against us?

Il faut d'abord durer.

I think I'm doing it wrong.

+1

Well done. I've often calmed my nerves when watching JoBo enter the game by thinking ... "it could be Todd Jones". No matter how well "The RollerCoaster" has pitched the past few years, I can't get on that ride. And how has JoBo not earned a better nickname? If Jones can be "The RollerCoaster", then Borowski has to have some unique name that exemplifies his performance.

How about "Rat farts", from Caddyshack? The bishop is having the game of his life, and everything is going great, despite rain and wind and frogs, and then all of a sudden -- RAT FARTS! and then he's struck by lightning. I think that exemplifies how I feel most games that Borowski participates in.

JoBo didn't seem too much like a roller coaster. Game to game he instilled the same unsettling feeling in me. 4-3 bot 9. Ground out (out 1). Fly out to deep center (out 2). Bad hop to SS (1 on). Foul ball with home run distance (holy crap). Fly out to deep, deep right (relax).

by supermarioelia on Mar 28, 2008 10:47 AM EDT up reply actions
