Re: Game Thread: March 7, 2008
After a couple of curve attempts, Cliff throws something 83 and straight.  Hanging curve or changeup, I don't know, but it was shot into the wall in left.

Anyone else curious as to why the Tribe only has 2 scheduled split squad days this spring? Seems kind of odd to me. I thought at least one third to one half of the spring used to be split into SS games.

Crowe dives and whiffs.  Run doubled in.

Pfft. They're talking about pitching contracts & the only thing he said about Mike Hampton was that he is "pitching well this spring." Nothing about the fact that he hasn't pitched at all the last two years & earned a cool $14.5 million per for doing so.

Re: Game Thread: March 7, 2008
Looked at a lot of moves, but the positives didn't outweigh the negatives to make those moves.  Sometimes its tougher to sit back and watch others making those moves than making those moves, but patience will prevail.

He's excited about Kobayashi, he knows how to separate games and bounce back.  He'll be used to try and reduce the workload on the Raffys.

Vic is a special player and a key to the clubhouse.  Watching him grow since coming into the organization has been amazing.

Indians rely on depth and balance, not relying too much on any one guy are area of the team to stay competitive.  Can't rely too much on any person and still be able to compete if something goes wrong.

The club has no egos, by design.  It also helps to have a manager who coaches that way and team leaders like Vic and Grady.  The team cares about each other and its the only way that this team can win.  They've been through everything together and know how to get the most out of it.  Payroll will sit around $80 million for the season.
