Guess who all is manning the outfield corners tonight...

by Voltaire on Apr 11, 2008 6:31 PM EDT   0 recs

You have got to be kidding me. You have got to be FREAKING kidding me, right? With Gutz numbers at home, the Indians are playing Jason Michaels and his .048 average. 1/21 is .048. A .220 OPS. I know its a SSS... but, play Gutz already!

*Deep breaths*

by Fundamentals on Apr 11, 2008 6:42 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hire Bonds!

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 6:46 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Michaels batting a robust .048

It's the Arizona talking, really.

by RD74 on Apr 11, 2008 6:38 PM EDT   0 recs

He has no where to go but up.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:11 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I hate off days. I feel like it's been forever. I have no idea how I survive college football season, with a week in between games.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 11, 2008 6:41 PM EDT   0 recs

Blake's and Dellucci's beards are fairly scruffy, like playoff beards in hockey. If they actually are playoff beards, these two are going to look like the Smith Brothers by October.

Of course, they already hit like the Smith Brothers...

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 6:45 PM EDT   0 recs

Guys ... use your heads. Is it not obvious to you by now that Gootz has some very minor injury that's bothering him? Occam's razor, guys -- Wedge being an idiot is not the simplest explanation for this.

by Jay on Apr 11, 2008 6:54 PM EDT   0 recs

haha...... damn simple explanations!

by crazymoloh on Apr 11, 2008 7:03 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Still.... a part of me thinks Wedge is sitting Gutz for Michaels because of some weird match up scenrio that makes sense only in Wedge's head.

by crazymoloh on Apr 11, 2008 7:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

do you think that HBP in game 1 or 2?

my helmet has, like, no pine tar on it.

by joeee on Apr 11, 2008 7:37 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hell, I don't know. Maybe he's got hemorrhoids, or the clap. Some info doesn't make it out of the clubhouse.

by Jay on Apr 11, 2008 7:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Is that what Occam tells you?

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 8:01 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

come on CC ... don't go Byrdshit on us

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:07 PM EDT   0 recs

booooooooo ... CC gets us down early again

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:12 PM EDT   0 recs

Popout, strikeout, hard hit ball that Dellucci should have caught but took a poor route on, and a bloop single. I've seen worse innings.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:14 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

me too - but the scoreboard says we're down eary.

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:14 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm not completely convinced that the run preceded the out on that play.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:12 PM EDT   0 recs

It did, the camera showed the run cross the plate and then cut to the out at second

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:13 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm pretty positive it doesn't matter. It would become an ump's judgment in that situation and an ump would never overturn that. Too tough of a call.

I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

by gahnki on Apr 11, 2008 7:14 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Maybe the ump will change his mind and remove that run in the 6th inning. Not that anything like that would ever happen!

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Undermanning is annoying me already

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:15 PM EDT   0 recs

We need a little patience....

I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

by gahnki on Apr 11, 2008 7:18 PM EDT   0 recs

Just cut him

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

CC needs to never pitch against the A's

I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

by gahnki on Apr 11, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

It's his big contract year. He's pitching to impress.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:23 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Um, why bat Garko 6th?

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

As opposed to?

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I'd bat him 4th with Vic 3rd until Hafner can put together some decent ABs.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

You say it as if it's an obvious move to make.

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hafner's not doing bad. He had a quality at bat the first time up.....just not a quality outcome.

I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

by gahnki on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

And you thought that our corner outfielders only killed us at the plate...

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

We shouldn't be moving valuable Cliff Lee starts in order to get CC more starts

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

Sizemore can sing:

clowns to the left of me /
joker to the right /
stuck in the middle with Dellichaels

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:24 PM EDT   0 recs

I was raised on Reservoir Dogs

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I busted out the dance from the movie at the bar on Monday. It killed.

Hooray CC!

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

These hits are pathetic

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

CC needs to K some guys

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:27 PM EDT   0 recs

The sooner Francisco and Choo get up here the better.

I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

by gahnki on Apr 11, 2008 7:27 PM EDT   0 recs

The sooner Marte is used, the better

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Book it: whoever starts for Oakland tomorrow will pitch a shutout. (Think Chase Wright)

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

Lenny DiNardo.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

unless he pitches tonight (not likely, since we can't hit)

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

CC looks like he's wearing saddle shoes, like a professional golfer, or perhaps a teeny bopper.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

SHAP: retract your highest offer before he takes it.

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

The Shap extension is a kiss of death

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

CY YOUNG

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

Who the hell are the A's? I haven't hear of 90% of these guys.
And they are trouncing CC

It's the Arizona talking, really.

by RD74 on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

I'm thinking 4 years, 20 million.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

Any chance of rain?

It's the Arizona talking, really.

by RD74 on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

doubt it.

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

You think CC thinks there, "wow, that ball was 4 inches away from ending my career. I'll take what Fausto got." Let's hope.

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

too early to suggest an injury? velocity doesn't suggest it. but his last six starts have just been ugly.

by xrickx on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

I'm with Hegan: blow somebody away

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

Get someone warming

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

At least he hasn't walked anyone!

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

Julio can't pitch tonight, can he?

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

Julio, how is the old wheel feeling?

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:31 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He's warming up.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

F-ing pathetic

It's the Arizona talking, really.

by RD74 on Apr 11, 2008 7:31 PM EDT   0 recs

Does Carsten Charles think he's in Oakland?

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:31 PM EDT   0 recs

Just playing for them....

by cclemens31 on Apr 11, 2008 7:32 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Welp, I am leaving. Have a nice night everyone

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:32 PM EDT   0 recs

yea that'll be enough of that.

by xrickx on Apr 11, 2008 7:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Julio = Rubber Arm!

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

z

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! Yeah, let's table those extension discussions fatboy, so you can 'focus' on pitching.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

Way to be jerk!

by crazymoloh on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Excessive and inappropriate.

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Agreed. That was Scout/Cleveland.com esque.

God truly does hate cleveland sports.

by Gradysmanldy on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Relax. I'm just venting.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

We sound like crap. Glad I can't watch.

by JulioBernazard on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

For the record, Lebron went 10 for 10 for 24 points in the first quarter of the cavs game...If you need a silver lining. :)

God truly does hate cleveland sports.

by Gradysmanldy on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

Holy crap, that's awesome. I wish I care 1/30th as much about basketball as I do about baseball.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Apr 11, 2008 7:34 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If only my Raps weren't playing like crap against the Nets.

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Goddammit. Nothing better than coming home after a terrible day to see your team's ace getting shelled and your two worst players starting in the outfield.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

The ace pitches tomorrow.

by pdxtribefan on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Grady was playing pretty deep there no? But I guess you can't blame him since CC is getting bombed out there.

by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

He has to play deep enough to cover RF, CF, and LF.

by emd2k3 on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i found cliff lee.

by xrickx on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT   0 recs

Holy crap just got here and WTF?!

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 11, 2008 7:35 PM EDT   0 recs

67 more innings pitched for Julio, and he'll have a career high. Should happen by mid-May.

by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT   0 recs

Unless Elarton gets the call before then,

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I lied, I am still here. Give him the hook and send a message

by Roger Dorn on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT   0 recs

who had the error?

my helmet has, like, no pine tar on it.

by joeee on Apr 11, 2008 7:36 PM EDT   0 recs

Jason "I'm not Gutierrez" Michaels.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:37 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Looks like his playoff suckitude was more physical than mental. Whatever it was, its carried over ......
