Guess who all is manning the outfield corners tonight...
by Voltaire on Apr 11, 2008 6:31 PM EDT 0 recs
You have got to be kidding me. You have got to be FREAKING kidding me, right? With Gutz numbers at home, the Indians are playing Jason Michaels and his .048 average. 1/21 is .048. A .220 OPS. I know its a SSS... but, play Gutz already!
*Deep breaths*

Michaels batting a robust .048
It's the Arizona talking, really.

I hate off days. I feel like it's been forever. I have no idea how I survive college football season, with a week in between games.
Il faut d'abord durer.

Blake's and Dellucci's beards are fairly scruffy, like playoff beards in hockey. If they actually are playoff beards, these two are going to look like the Smith Brothers by October.
Of course, they already hit like the Smith Brothers...

Guys ... use your heads. Is it not obvious to you by now that Gootz has some very minor injury that's bothering him? Occam's razor, guys -- Wedge being an idiot is not the simplest explanation for this.
by Jay on Apr 11, 2008 6:54 PM EDT 0 recs
Still.... a part of me thinks Wedge is sitting Gutz for Michaels because of some weird match up scenrio that makes sense only in Wedge's head.

Hell, I don't know. Maybe he's got hemorrhoids, or the clap. Some info doesn't make it out of the clubhouse.

Popout, strikeout, hard hit ball that Dellucci should have caught but took a poor route on, and a bloop single. I've seen worse innings.

I'm not completely convinced that the run preceded the out on that play.
by Fiddlesticks on Apr 11, 2008 7:12 PM EDT 0 recs
It did, the camera showed the run cross the plate and then cut to the out at second

I'm pretty positive it doesn't matter. It would become an ump's judgment in that situation and an ump would never overturn that. Too tough of a call.
I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.

Maybe the ump will change his mind and remove that run in the 6th inning. Not that anything like that would ever happen!

CC needs to never pitch against the A's

I'd bat him 4th with Vic 3rd until Hafner can put together some decent ABs.

Hafner's not doing bad. He had a quality at bat the first time up.....just not a quality outcome.

We shouldn't be moving valuable Cliff Lee starts in order to get CC more starts

Book it: whoever starts for Oakland tomorrow will pitch a shutout. (Think Chase Wright)
by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT 0 recs
unless he pitches tonight (not likely, since we can't hit)

CC looks like he's wearing saddle shoes, like a professional golfer, or perhaps a teeny bopper.

SHAP: retract your highest offer before he takes it.
by westbrook on Apr 11, 2008 7:28 PM EDT 0 recs
Who the hell are the A's? I haven't hear of 90% of these guys.
And they are trouncing CC

by RD74 on Apr 11, 2008 7:29 PM EDT 0 recs
You think CC thinks there, "wow, that ball was 4 inches away from ending my career. I'll take what Fausto got." Let's hope.
by supermarioelia on Apr 11, 2008 7:30 PM EDT 0 recs
too early to suggest an injury? velocity doesn't suggest it. but his last six starts have just been ugly.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! Yeah, let's table those extension discussions fatboy, so you can 'focus' on pitching.

Goddammit. Nothing better than coming home after a terrible day to see your team's ace getting shelled and your two worst players starting in the outfield.

Grady was playing pretty deep there no? But I guess you can't blame him since CC is getting bombed out there.

67 more innings pitched for Julio, and he'll have a career high. Should happen by mid-May.
