the indian's booth put it best...the offense does not make in-game adjustments until the third time they see a guy, but by that point, they are losing by 6 runs and the bullpen is coming in, so adjustments are moot.

I'm impressed by Jensen Lewis. He throws strikes and challenges hitters, but there's more to it than that. On a shot back to the box that deflects off the pitcher's glove, lots of pitchers--especially rookies--would scramble and zing that ball to (or near) first. Lewis calmly recovered, found the ball, and put no more on the throw than he had to. He's a big leaguer.

You know that excited feeling you have when your team has the bases loaded, down by one? And how it shrivels and dies when you see Casey Blake walking to the plate?
What scares me is that a hit there by Blake leaves Wedge thinking Blake is the right answer. So maybe we're better off with Blake being the perpetual rally killer. And I'm not saying Marte is the right answer, but it certainly isn't Blake and hasn't been since 2004.

Yeah you would hope to think that Blake being a veteran would make him get the ball over the plate, that pissed me off more then anything!
When your bullpen has to pitch 6 innings a night, somebody is bound to give up a run. As soon as the starters begin to resemble, well...starting pitchers, the bullpen will take shape.
Funny thing is, just looking at the numbers, Blake is 1 for 16 with no one on this season, 4 for 16 with runners on, and 3 for 10 with them in scoring position.
You know, we're sitting here saying "We suck, and just wait till the Tigers get going!"
But in Detroit, they're saying "We suck, we're behind, and just wait till the Tribe get going! We're doomed!"
It's all perspective. I like our chances better than theirs.

I also tried to help the Tribe by ignoring them. Didn't work.
I'd really like the team to do well this year. I think they have a chance. But, so far, just about everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. Not a promising start at all. Sigh.
i did that too. i watched the first few minutes and then turned it off.
checked back in when it was 3-2 and then left again.

We have been getting curb stomped lately.
I'm officially removing myself as president of the Gutz for MVP campaign. He will have to earn it back.
Can we officially take Dellucci off the "whipping post" now? Aside from Garko and Vmart, he is the only Indian putting together really good at-bats almost every time he comes to the plate.
5 walks and 5 hits in 25 plate appearances. That's good stuff.
