The Marte situation isn't even remotely funny anymore. Sitting against another left hander.

They won yesterday when I watched the game but stayed away from LGT so I'm going to be going with that today as well.

anyone else hate the fact that no matter what we do this series, we can't even get remotely close to ALCS payback?
by westbrook on Apr 14, 2008 6:30 PM EDT 0 recs
Why Michaels over Delluci? Dave's 4-12 with 1 HR lifetime against Wakefield. And he's better anyway. And we have Westbrook on the mound, which should minimize Michaels' defensive impact.

Lester is going for the Sox tonight.

Yeah, you're right. But Dellucci should still be starting. Michaels: 0-5, 1 BB lifetime against Lester. Plus the other reasons above.

And Dellucci hasn't faced Lester, or at least that I have found, so how do we know that he won't have the same failures?

I'd rather go with the unknown quantity than the known quantity that is bad.
But the sample size is sooo small that it doesn't really matter. I say play the matchup.

If we're prioritizing stats, nothing takes precedence over Michaels -13 OPS+.

Rumor has it that I get this game on the ol' fashion TV tonight. I'm pretty excited about that.

Ryan, last season you'd also include the pitching matchups in the game threads. Not to pick nits, but could keep that up this year? It's nice having that handy. Thanks!

Who the christ made this schedule? A two-game series is the only time Boston visit Cleveland this year?
Also!
Why don't we have a nickname for Westbrook yet?

Do I watch the non-HD feed on Extra Innings, or do I deal with ESPN's inevitable love-fest for the Red Sox so I can see it in HD? Ah, questions.

Hmmmm...Tribe vs. BoSox, or NCAA women's bowling national championship (ESPN2)? Tough decision.
by Fiddlesticks on Apr 14, 2008 7:06 PM EDT 0 recs
The women bowlers are mega-hotties, too (if you think that the more a woman looks like C.C. Sabathia, the hotter she is).

I'm worried about Ortiz, I'll say it. Not because he's in a slump and will break out at some point, but because if happens tonight after the "mental health break" yesterday the crap we will have to listen to from Schulmann and Phillips will be nauseating.

I hate watching the Indians on national TV 'cause you get nothing but generic storylines.
by xrickx on Apr 14, 2008 7:10 PM EDT 0 recs
We should start a cliche-o-meter. "Dustin Pedroia is small, but scrappy" is definitely one of those.
