what;s the over/under on the attendance tonight?

by palcal on Apr 14, 2008 6:15 PM EDT   0 recs

50% frontrunners Sox fans, 50% Indians fans

by Ryan on Apr 14, 2008 6:16 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

The weather should be getting better soon so I expect more to start showing up to games.

Gutz for MVP!!!

Lee for Cy Young!

Over/under on the Game 7/ALCS mentions during the broadcast tonight.

It's 2 already.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 14, 2008 7:00 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

The Marte situation isn't even remotely funny anymore. Sitting against another left hander.

by cheech99 on Apr 14, 2008 6:18 PM EDT   0 recs

Wakefield, though. Not your standard leftie.

by maledicta on Apr 14, 2008 6:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

My fault, I kept hearing lester

by cheech99 on Apr 14, 2008 6:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Nope, my bad. It is Lester.

by maledicta on Apr 14, 2008 6:43 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

They won yesterday when I watched the game but stayed away from LGT so I'm going to be going with that today as well.

Gutz for MVP!!!

Lee for Cy Young!

by gahnki on Apr 14, 2008 6:27 PM EDT   0 recs

anyone else hate the fact that no matter what we do this series, we can't even get remotely close to ALCS payback?

by westbrook on Apr 14, 2008 6:30 PM EDT   0 recs

Why Michaels over Delluci? Dave's 4-12 with 1 HR lifetime against Wakefield. And he's better anyway. And we have Westbrook on the mound, which should minimize Michaels' defensive impact.

by maledicta on Apr 14, 2008 6:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Lester is going for the Sox tonight.

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 6:34 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, you're right. But Dellucci should still be starting. Michaels: 0-5, 1 BB lifetime against Lester. Plus the other reasons above.

by maledicta on Apr 14, 2008 6:46 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

And Dellucci hasn't faced Lester, or at least that I have found, so how do we know that he won't have the same failures?

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 6:52 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I'd rather go with the unknown quantity than the known quantity that is bad.

But the sample size is sooo small that it doesn't really matter. I say play the matchup.

Gutz for MVP!!!

Lee for Cy Young!

by gahnki on Apr 14, 2008 6:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I like JMike's defense.

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 6:56 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

six plate appearances?

i'll put a little more importance on dellucci's stellar 204/.271/.310 line against lhp's

by TonyH on Apr 14, 2008 7:01 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If we're prioritizing stats, nothing takes precedence over Michaels -13 OPS+.

by maledicta on Apr 14, 2008 7:11 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Rumor has it that I get this game on the ol' fashion TV tonight. I'm pretty excited about that.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 6:40 PM EDT   0 recs

Ryan, last season you'd also include the pitching matchups in the game threads. Not to pick nits, but could keep that up this year? It's nice having that handy. Thanks!

by jdwitmer on Apr 14, 2008 6:48 PM EDT   0 recs

Check above the top of the Comments, there's a link to a tremendous Matchups page for the game.

I am ready to not hear a damn word out of my Red Sox fan roommate tonight.

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 7:01 PM EDT   0 recs

I image he's going to tell you how tough it is to be a Red Sox fan and how the Tribe Faithful just don't understand.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:05 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Mental Health Break. Uh huh...

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:02 PM EDT   0 recs

Who the christ made this schedule? A two-game series is the only time Boston visit Cleveland this year?

Also!

Why don't we have a nickname for Westbrook yet?

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Apr 14, 2008 7:03 PM EDT   0 recs

he doesn't need one. neither do I.

by westbrook on Apr 14, 2008 7:03 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 7:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Anything is better than Blake.

It's the Arizona talking, really.

Argh. Can't get my Gameday Audio to work.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Apr 14, 2008 7:05 PM EDT   0 recs

FWIW, It's on the ESPNs tonight.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:06 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Do I watch the non-HD feed on Extra Innings, or do I deal with ESPN's inevitable love-fest for the Red Sox so I can see it in HD? Ah, questions.

by zempf on Apr 14, 2008 7:07 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Utilize the mute button, HD is way too important.

It's the Arizona talking, really.

by RD74 on Apr 14, 2008 7:08 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, I know. Just wanna hear Hammy.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

What about ESPN?

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 7:06 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hmmmm...Tribe vs. BoSox, or NCAA women's bowling national championship (ESPN2)? Tough decision.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 14, 2008 7:06 PM EDT   0 recs

Holy crap, I thought you were kidding.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:07 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

The women bowlers are mega-hotties, too (if you think that the more a woman looks like C.C. Sabathia, the hotter she is).

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 14, 2008 7:08 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That's incredible that the NCAA women's bowling nationals even exist, let alone are televised.

TRIBE TIME NOW!!!

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:08 PM EDT   0 recs

Whoa, Steve Philips giving Vic props for defense.

Burn on, big river, burn on...

by Turkmenbashi on Apr 14, 2008 7:09 PM EDT   0 recs

I wonder who worked that into the script.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:09 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Are we gonna get a good umpiring crew tonight?

Tribe fan from far, far away

by LGT Patrick on Apr 14, 2008 7:09 PM EDT   0 recs

I'm worried about Ortiz, I'll say it. Not because he's in a slump and will break out at some point, but because if happens tonight after the "mental health break" yesterday the crap we will have to listen to from Schulmann and Phillips will be nauseating.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 14, 2008 7:09 PM EDT   0 recs

VIC!

That was a beautiful play. Wow.

by zempf on Apr 14, 2008 7:10 PM EDT   0 recs

That......wa beautiful. I guess Steve Philips was right, as usual.

by Fiddlesticks on Apr 14, 2008 7:10 PM EDT   0 recs

LOL...

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:10 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I hate watching the Indians on national TV 'cause you get nothing but generic storylines.

by xrickx on Apr 14, 2008 7:10 PM EDT   0 recs

We should start a cliche-o-meter. "Dustin Pedroia is small, but scrappy" is definitely one of those.

by zempf on Apr 14, 2008 7:11 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Local broadcast for me in Boston.

by westbrook on Apr 14, 2008 7:12 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

OMG he's so gritty.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:12 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

The RedSox stat machine is awesome. Pedroia hit .333 last year with 8 HRs except when he wasn't.

by gte619n on Apr 14, 2008 7:12 PM EDT   0 recs

"GRITTY"

My night is complete.

3 Minutes in and I already have to mute it.
I don't know why I get bothered by this Terry Francona and Theo Epstein are the greatest people in history shit.

Disappointed by the Indians since 1995.

How much do I want a double play right now? A lot, just to screw up Ortiz that much more.

throw strikes.
