Go cliffie!

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person

by jakesinger777 on Apr 24, 2008 11:38 PM EDT   0 recs

i have no idea how Lee is doing this, and i don’t care.

by still ill on Apr 24, 2008 11:38 PM EDT   0 recs

Dammit, Shoppach.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

by zempf on Apr 24, 2008 11:39 PM EDT   0 recs

How are there more people around for this game than the first? Don’t you guys have to go to bed out on the east coast?

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 24, 2008 11:39 PM EDT   0 recs

I was planning on going to bed at 11, but I can’t stop watching this.

We are refreshed by the power of Cliff Lee?

by Julie on Apr 24, 2008 11:40 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

it’s a pleasure getting up for work at 9

by dwight on Apr 24, 2008 11:41 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Not as pleasurable as your only obligation for the day being at swim practice by 11.

28 K’s by April 24th.

Would be a good inning to score.

Totally worth it, Kelly.

Where’s your stat for that, Statboy?

by fleerdon on Apr 24, 2008 11:40 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I can’t stop thinking about Cliff Lee.

Come on, Marte. Give us some love here.

would a homer get him some PT?

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

2nd pitch as well

Nobody knows, the KC feed lost their ability to switch cameras so we all got to pretend we had third base line seats for a couple of innings.

by zempf on Apr 24, 2008 11:42 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Well, he gets the ball out of the infield at a much higher rate than Blake, that’s for sure.

Right now, I'll take .500 and run. I'm a cheap happy.

by vbc3 on Apr 24, 2008 11:53 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I’m really enjoying this game.

by mjschaefer on Apr 24, 2008 11:42 PM EDT   0 recs

Hey, the guy who is stealing Ben Fran’s spot is still underperforming. Big shocker.

by Toxicadam on Apr 24, 2008 11:42 PM EDT   0 recs

But he has grit! And a ‘veteran presence’.

NBR (No Borowski Run): Refers to that run which puts the Indians up by 4 over an opponent, thereby drastically reducing the chances of Joe Borowski pitching in a game.

by crazymoloh on Apr 24, 2008 11:43 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

really?

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by westbrook on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Marte is our fourth outfielder?

by Jay on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yea, because most teams carry a backup 3rd baseman.

by Toxicadam on Apr 25, 2008 11:18 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Most teams do carry two backup infielders. Blake is in fact the classic fourth bench guy.

by Jay on Apr 25, 2008 12:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Grady wishes single games were 18 innings

by fleerdon on Apr 24, 2008 11:42 PM EDT   0 recs

bingo. guys better be swinging

by mrich on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

the official scorer has something to say for Bannister’s stat-i-ness.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by westbrook on Apr 24, 2008 11:43 PM EDT   0 recs

That dude hates to give fielders errors or something.

by mjschaefer on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He might have to think more about BABIP in the offseason

by SanD on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I would ponder here why exactly Bannister’s mediocre stuff is bewildering us, but then again, Cliff Lee has a 0.3-something ERA. The world is a strange place.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

by zempf on Apr 24, 2008 11:43 PM EDT   0 recs

Bannister’s pitching like it’s his MLB debut.

by SuddenSam on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

we’re certainly hitting him as if he’d just been called up

by aufrank on Apr 24, 2008 11:45 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

or like he’s the reigning #3 vote-getter for ROY

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by westbrook on Apr 24, 2008 11:47 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I wouldn’t call Bannister’s stuff mediocre. He has great control and mixes his pitches like a magician. He’s like Byrd with more velocity.

by Toxicadam on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Or better dentists.

by Julie on Apr 24, 2008 11:45 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Wow, nice work on that one Julie.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic game

by NickFantana on Apr 24, 2008 11:43 PM EDT   0 recs

At this rate, I may get to bed by 12:30.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

by zempf on Apr 24, 2008 11:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I think they call this a pitcher’s duel.

Blake lets Dellucci turn that one into a triple.

by Jay on Apr 24, 2008 11:46 PM EDT   0 recs

(Probably too dry, this was meant as an ironically drastic exaggeration.)

by Jay on Apr 24, 2008 11:47 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I got it.

did anybody else kind of dig that fixed 3rd base camera?

by mrich on Apr 24, 2008 11:47 PM EDT   0 recs

No, not really.

by gte619n on Apr 24, 2008 11:48 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

It wasn’t terrible, kinda like being at the game sitting in some decent seats.

Listening to Marvin Gaye and watching a pitching duel is the most relaxing thing ever.

by mjschaefer on Apr 24, 2008 11:49 PM EDT   0 recs

Pitching duels do not relax me. They reveal my inner spaz. Okay, my not-so-inner spaz.

by Julie on Apr 24, 2008 11:49 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I love pitching duels. So much more than blowouts. Though I know what you mean.

by mjschaefer on Apr 24, 2008 11:50 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I like the 10-8 games. Like Game 1, though I missed nearly all of that one.

i like them … when we’re up 2-0

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by Julie on Apr 24, 2008 11:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

You notice I said “temporarily”?
