I know this is probably not a cool thing to do but I’ve really gotten in to this free sports betting site (Centsports) that gives you 10 free cents and then if you build your account up to $20 you can cash out for real..I’ve tried not betting on Indians games with no avail – for tonight I took the over (o/u was set @ 10 runs..)!
Also – from the front page of Yahoo!Sports baseball page: Why the Cleveland Indians should sign Barry Bonds.

Didn’t think either of these deserved a FanPost or FanShot, but definitely things of interest..LGT tonight – will unfortunately miss the game thread.

GET AWAY FROM ME CHARLIE HUSTLE.

I clicked on your link and joined. I’m all over Ervin Santana against the Tigers to win .12 cents.

Quick question for the moderators: Are we allowed to talk about gambling on this site or not?

by NickFantana on Apr 25, 2008 7:03 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Nice dude – I have such difficulty with baseball bets, but I’ve been rocking NBA betting (I’m up to around $7) – have won like 15 of my last 18 NBA bets or something

Went with risky stuff tonight though..

Byrd says: “Hope we can score 11 for you, cause the Yankmees ARE NOT SCORING!”

I’ll take it..I’ll also take any kind of win even if we score < 10 total!

Without reading the Bonds article… that might not be the worst idea of all time, depending on how badly he plays in the field these days.

Il faut d'abord durer.

Unless he will Platoon with Looch, it’s not a great idea.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I love the idea of the L/L platoon. What a diss to JMike!

by Denver Tribe Fan on Apr 25, 2008 7:41 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Or depending on if Pronk ever hits again..

These are exactly the kinds of things that should be FanShots.

People … do some damned FanShots. And when you do, spell Weglarz right.

Unfortunately, A-Rod is back from his quad strain or whatever it was.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

by zempf on Apr 25, 2008 6:28 PM EDT   0 recs

I wish Garko was in there to face Pettitte..

Me too. I understand Shoppach starting game 2 of the DH last night, but not entirely sure why Victor’s not in there tonight since he’s actually caught Byrd’s last 2 starts.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

by zempf on Apr 25, 2008 6:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Wedge finally thinks he is healthy enough to play first base. Victor catching Byrd the last 2 starts had nothing to do with who Wedge wanted to catch Byrd. He just didn’t want Victor playing first base.

I’m a little surprised by this…Victor is still nowhere near 100% healthy.

by TribeJay on Apr 25, 2008 6:47 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Then maybe we should be looking at is as Garko over Hafner vs. a lefty.

Pronk is gonna prove me wrong tonight. I can feel it

by SanD on Apr 25, 2008 6:49 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Isn’t Garko 0 for his last 12? He didn’t look good in KC.

by TribeJay on Apr 25, 2008 7:02 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Wouldn’t catching, with the squatting and the up-and-down and so forth, be more difficult on Victor than playing first base?

by Jeffrey R on Apr 25, 2008 9:20 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Not from what they say. Wedge is worried about the stretch at first base. Apparently it doesn’t bother him much when he catches.

by TribeJay on Apr 26, 2008 12:32 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Why is the banner about Marry Chass? Did Jay and Ryan get hired by the NYT? AM I TAKING OVER LGT??

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:04 PM EDT   0 recs

If you took over, would you write more short fiction for the site? If so, I’m all for it.

by NickFantana on Apr 25, 2008 7:08 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If I took over this site would crash and burn. Hard.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:09 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Murray Chass made disparaging remarks about bloggers.

And wrote many idiotic articles regarding “new stats.”

And got laid off a few weeks ago.

What is Abreu doing?

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:13 PM EDT   0 recs

Yeah Paul Byrd.

We basically need to count the number of times Byrd retires A-Rod and hope it gets to 3. I think that equals a win.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:13 PM EDT   0 recs

Samuel Dalembert is so weak at the rim.

Nothing like saying Petitie turned back the clock the year after he admits to using HGH.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:16 PM EDT   0 recs

These could be the starting pitchers for the HGH all-star game.

Carroll and Cabrera aren’t platooning in any significant way are they? Over the last week I mean? Wedge is just sort of splitting them?

Hey, if you guys were wondering, Travis Hafner is still worthless.

I can hardly contain the venom I feel for his performance.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

His new nickname should be 4-3.

by SuddenSam on Apr 25, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

His new nickname should be Frank Thomas’ backup.

Kidding, kidding.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Victor’s line is weird. Only ten points of OBP?

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

Only thing I can think of is that his avg. is .367 – why walk when you can hit everything?

I’m sure Peralta’s “struggles with RISP so far this season” are really significant Hegan.

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:25 PM EDT   0 recs

I was gonna say, if this year is a problem, bench him til next year.

by elsandito on Apr 25, 2008 7:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Could be an unintentional intentional here?

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person

by jakesinger777 on Apr 25, 2008 7:25 PM EDT   0 recs

Hegan you make no sense. He’s only driven in two runs without getting homeruns?

Ever heard of a two run homerun?

by afh4 on Apr 25, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

I think he meant RBIs that weren’t driven in via homerun.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 25, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That still doesn’t make sense, I don’t think. Did Jhonny hit 4 solos?

JHONNY!

by supermarioelia on Apr 25, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

The players we have high expectations of who are not meeting them (Sabathia, Hafner, et al.) = doom, disaster, arrrgh they’re killing us.
The players we have low expectations of who are doing well (Lee, Blake, et al.) = signs of the apocalypse, it can’t last

We are so Cleveland in here.
