Sizemore back, garko sits, Marte plays

by palcal on Apr 29, 2008 6:17 PM EDT   0 recs

That sounds nice! I like tonight’s lineup very much, with Gut in RF and DD in LF. Gonna rough up Silva tonight!

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person

Someone else breaks out tonight. I can feel it in my gut. But who?

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 6:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hafner vs. Silva (career)

39 PA, 4BB, 4K, .455BA, .667 SLG, 1.154 OPS

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 6:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Pronk vs. Silva: 27PA , 9 H (3 2B), 3BB, 5 RBI, 3K ~1.008 OPS

(if I have the math right)

Proon vs. Silva: 12PA, 6H (1 2B, 1 HR) 1BB, 5 RBI, 1K 1.583 OPS

Oddly enough, for tonight we’re better off with Proon than with Pronk

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 6:54 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Here we go offense, here we go!

by cclemens31 on Apr 29, 2008 6:33 PM EDT   0 recs

I know Silva has better numbers this year, but “marquee matchup?”

by SuddenSam on Apr 29, 2008 7:02 PM EDT   0 recs

I’m feeling good about this lineup tonight. Come on Tribe, win these next two and escape April at .500!

by ahowie on Apr 29, 2008 7:03 PM EDT   0 recs

HOLY SHIT.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

I got really spoiled the last three days with the Tribe on the real TV and not my laptop. I need a job.

Seattle brings cold weather and a small attendance.

Makes last night’s 20K for NY seem like a crowd.

I’m over it. Watching Manny and Thome is more painful, honestly.

Asdrubal’s playoff run helped me get over it.

Now that walks, that is not a good sign for Fausto. Because it’s been something that has happened all year.

indians and mariners came into today’s game tied with 117 runs scored in the same number of games. the mariners have some ugly stat lines in that lineup.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:12 PM EDT   0 recs

as do we.

by westbrook on Apr 29, 2008 7:13 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

His control does scare me. He’s gonna straighten this out, right?

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:14 PM EDT   0 recs

I need a new approach. No getting annoyed in the first inning.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That K/BB rate is frightening.

I’d be worried but Sexson is up hah

by ahowie on Apr 29, 2008 7:18 PM EDT   0 recs

Is there a larger strike zone than Sexsons?

by elsandito on Apr 29, 2008 7:19 PM EDT   0 recs

for whatever reason, Shelley Duncan’s looked more enormous.

by westbrook on Apr 29, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Every time I see Richie Sexon I think to myself, “Brian Giles for Ricardo Rincon.” I don’t know why.

THROW A STRIKE SHIT!

by gte619n on Apr 29, 2008 7:19 PM EDT   0 recs

Fucking garbage! Calm down you friggin’ headcase

NBR (No Borowski Run): Refers to that run which puts the Indians up by 4 over an opponent, thereby drastically reducing the chances of Joe Borowski pitching in a game.

by crazymoloh on Apr 29, 2008 7:20 PM EDT   0 recs

Tigers get 2 in the 1st off Hughes

As much as I want DET to fail, it is fun to see the Yankees young stud relievers suck.

by maledicta on Apr 29, 2008 7:21 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

No. Cause that gives them more reason to steal Sabathia at the end of the year.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I think Eddie Vedder’s Society should play every time a Yankees’ pitcher takes the hill.

Richie Sexson should not have presumption of innocence when it comes to striking out. Ever.

by maledicta on Apr 29, 2008 7:20 PM EDT   0 recs

well. that’s strike three.

1-0, bitches. I love Carlos Silva.

I’m a big fan of Grady Sizemore

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 7:25 PM EDT   0 recs

Good news: Grady’s ankle appears alright. Bad news: A whole lot of Asian children are going to starve because of that Carlos Silva contract.

by maledicta on Apr 29, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

Finally, a good at bat from Haf

by elsandito on Apr 29, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

fucking hafner. awful.

by gte619n on Apr 29, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

God, Hafner cannot do anything right. So unlucky.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 29, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

Haf tried to stroke that low outside pitch to LF, its all good

by elsandito on Apr 29, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

Wasn’t a bad at bat. But he’s just not using left field. And really, he’s not driving the ball.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:29 PM EDT   0 recs

that looks like it’s gotta hurt to get hit right there.

by gte619n on Apr 29, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

I don’t think it got much if any of him, just his pant leg.

I miss 2005 Jhonny.

This new Jhonny tries to pull EVERYTHING.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Damn. We hit every ball hard, get 1 run. Fuck outs bullshit.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 29, 2008 7:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Those are the difference over the course of a year. Hafner moved him over. A harmless flyout to right field adds another run. They’ll find it….it’s just ugly right now.

by xrickx on Apr 29, 2008 7:34 PM EDT   0 recs

my god we get CC back and now Fausto is borderline retarded

double play right here!

by ahowie on Apr 29, 2008 7:37 PM EDT   0 recs

yesss prophet

by ahowie on Apr 29, 2008 7:38 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I’m only following on gameday here, but Carmona does induce a lot of grounders, which is why they attempted to send the runner. The double play was a fairly likely outcome.

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 7:40 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Thank you, I did not know that!

it’s hard to get batters to hit it on the ground when you’re walking everyone so while last year it would be very likely so far this season not so much

by ahowie on Apr 29, 2008 7:41 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I actually decided to play the “master of the obvious” game tonight. Yes, I decided this.

by jhon on Apr 29, 2008 7:45 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He’s walking people so much in part because people are taking the low pitch. He’s leading the league in ground ball outs to fly ball outs, in addition to leading the league in double plays.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on Apr 29, 2008 7:45 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs
