wrigley 04/03/08

Its that time of the year for me to skip class and go to a cubs game. I'll be in the bleachers - I like wrigley, I just wish the indians and the red sox were playing there instead. Come say hi to the kid in non-cubs shirt and a lake county captains hat.

Hey brosef, you gonna go hit up the Weiners Circle afterwards?

The This American Life crew documented the Weiners Circle spectacle. If you aren't able to go, Youtube it.

next time you're there, head west to california avenue and go to "hot doug's" instead.

you'll be happy you did. waaaaaay happier than the weiner's circle:

Wow. this does look like one damn tasty dog.

no doubt.

for all chicagoans, or those that come to chicago, there is no substitute to "hot doug's": it's the only place to get a dog.

though be forewarned....whenever i drive by on weekends, i see that the line snakes outside and the length of the building and does not move that fast.

but if anything is worth it...it's a dog -- and the duck fat fries -- at hot doug's.

waiting for marte.

I've gone past there several times ( I live in Logan Square) and always wondered. Seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, so I'm shocked that it's that popular.

I will have to check it out - thanks for the recommendation.

some of my buddies went to hot doug's a little bit ago and got really tight hot doug's tshirts. a trip to hot dougs: eminent.

I see a little honey dijon, roasted almonds, maybe some broccoli chunks and / or spinach, and whole chili peppers. The brat has been butterflied to get some open-flame grill action, and the bun's been toasted, just how I like it

That stuff on top? That's the vomit of a depressed Cubs fan after drinking himself into postseason stupor after they fail to win the NL Central, or as I like to call it, the Eastern League Northern Division.

wrigley does a nice job of reminding me: being a true baseball fan means wearing a ton of your teams gear and acting like a tough guy.

but its still pretty funny to watch people get kicked out

my helmet has, like, no pine tar on it.
