This is going to be an interesting game for the Tribe. I hope they can pull it out. Seattle just designated Wilkerson and Norton so they could bring up Balentien and Clement – their two young studs. Balentien will start in right for Seattle from now on and expect Clement to go in for Vidro if Vidro falters. Let’s go Tribe!

My girlfriend has turned me into a Flyers fan, so I’ve been WAY into the playoffs this year. Hence I’m only half paying attention to the Tribe game right now.

Follow up to that “best 4 game stretch ever” discussion a few weeks ago: I went looking for the most consecutive starts allowing 1 run or less. Gibson had 11 back in ‘68. He gave up three runs total between like June 6 and July 30.

We need to start an SBN Flyers site, because I’m dying for a Game Thread during these.

We need to find a functioning Flyers blogger and recruit him/her. SBN doesn’t like to spontaneously start new blogs. We had this whole situation with a Cavs blog, I was ready to start a blog-by-committee with three guys, and they were basically like, thanks but no thanks, we only do this exactly one way, we’d rather have LeBron go to the playoffs five years in a row with no SBN Cavs blog the whole time rather than try something different.
Not that I’m bitter.

Remember when Cliff Lee gave up that run? I mean, I know you have to think back a long ways, since it was like a few weeks ago. But remember when he gave up that run? That one run? It was like he felt sorry for the other team and just let them have one. What the hell, just let one guy cross the plate. It was so cute. What harm could it do? Plus, people may not understand an ERA of 0. They’d think you’re a reliever or something. John Kruk would argue Chien-Mien Wang was better because he’s pitching with real numbers.

If he were a fat reliever named Joba, he’d only pitch in the 8th inning with a lead.

Worth noting that Joba Chamberlain’s dominance was pronounced on the basis of 24 IP last year. Cliff’s at 35.1 IP right now, with a better ERA.
