Local talk radio is sooo bad (Munch raises my bloodpressure with his impossible-to-follow ranting and Trivisano [aside from being racist and likely illiterate is nothing more than Captain Obvious when he makes the rare factual statement regarding baseball]) I have resorted to listening to Detroit sports talk radio for entertainment.

And let me tell you, it's been a pleasure all afternoon. They're freaking out. One of the hosts has already suggested putting Inge in the bullpen.

Ah Munch, Munch. He was on one of the "Hard Rock" FM stations when I was living in Columbus as a kinda part-time sports stringer. He reveled in his Cleveland roots - claiming he was from one of the ethnic neighborhoods - but even with my built-in bias towards all things Cleveland I couldn't embrace him. Kinda like Joe Posnanski. There's just something about the little squistamod that just doesn't ring true. Anyway, suffice it to say I wouldn't have a beer with the little stunod, even if he was buyin'.

I know its bad karma, but with the 2nd highest payroll and now to be 0-6 its just too good not to be giddy. Plus to have their ace - an many a talking head's preseason Cy Young - have his worst outing ever? Their pitching doesn't get better again till Verlander pitches again...

What would it be like if they went 0-10 and beat their franchise record for longest streak without the first win (since they lost 113 or whatever a couple years ago).

The only thing which might be better than this would be a Yanks or Red Sox doing the same thing.

Still the local "Barfield Bounces Back Believer" but also a developing a Gutz mancrush.
