We're benching Frank the Tank so that we can play our platoon guy, who is batting .056 on the season, where he's facing a pitcher that he would be expected to perform poorly against because of his platoon splits.

I'm not talking about Dellucci. Of course Dellucci starts against a right-hander. I'm talking about Michaels. I think the last two seasons have proved that his rep as a platoon guy is legitimate.

Can't say I understand this lineup AT ALL. I know why Vic's not in there, but does that mean we need to play our 4 worst hitters all at the same time? Let's get Marte or Gutz in there, at least there's a potential for upside.

I wouldn't put it past him, but more likely, the out-of-options guy would get more playing time than he deserved because Yost gets confused easily.

If it makes you feel better, Yost has definite issues comprehending platoon splits. He would have serious Michaels issues as well, and just last night he completely biffed on when and how to use Brian Shouse.
