I made this a chat, but I don't know what that means.
I am ok with being the only one in here. ... No really, it's fine. Hello? Is this thing on?
Anyway, Barfield WALKS leading off in Buffalo. That's 4 on the season folks. 4. He had 14 all of last year for the big club.

And I really like this stretch in Kinston:
Drennan
Mills
Goedert
Weglarz
Followed up by senior citizen masher Todd Martin.

Okay, here's something that should cheer people up. The Lake County Captains lost this afternoon, 4-1, but the real story is another strong performance by Lord Kelvin de la Cruz, who pitched 5 innings, allowing one run on 3 hits and a walk, striking out 8. Let the Absolute Zero watch begin.

Very nice. Who says the debate is Archer v. Rosario?

Laffey is giving up ground ball hits tonight. It happens.
And Akron's Camacaro walked, which I believe means that his 2.600 OPS goes up.

In Kinston, our foursome performed as follows in the 1st
-Adam Davis walks.
-With John Drennen batting, Adam Davis steals (1) 2nd base.
-John Drennen strikes out swinging.
-Beau Mills flies out to center fielder Robert Andrews.
-Jared Goedert singles on a line drive to left fielder Chris Amador. Adam Davis scores. Jared Goedert to 2nd on the throw.
-Nicholas Weglarz walks.
Coaching visit to mound.
-With Todd Martin batting, Jared Goedert picked off 2nd, hidden ball trick.

A few more notes before I get back to work:
Danny Sandoval is getting destroyed behind Laffey.
Akron's lineup is less than exciting, but they may produce. Basically you got the two reclaimation projects and a bunch of guys surrounding the one jewel, Hodges.
Lofgren gives up a two run shot. Must have watched the big club today.
Snyder is playing center. We've had varying opinions of his ability to play there, but if he can, it really helps his shot at a career on the bench somewhere. Also he struck out.
Did Andy Gonzalez, who seems destined for the a career in the IL, really just all of a sudden develop power? How does that happen?

Both Laffey and Lofgren appear to be settling down. Carlton Smith, not so much. Lofgren used to be a stud, but he's been a mediocrity since about the middle of last season. Sold his tool kit to Andy Gonzalez, maybe.

Evidentally, the Keys have a 30 pitch limit in any given inning. Keys announcer is bemoaning the many pitch at-bats by the KTribe hitters.
Anyway, second time through the foursome:
Drennan single, Mills walk, Goedert single (RBI), Weglarz FC (and RBI).

KTribe with at least two on base in each of first four innings.
Great fun in the 4th. Drennan flies out. Mills walks. Goedert flies out. Weglarz rips a double just over the first base bag.
As Martin bats, Fredrick catcher Matt Wieters (of the $6 M bonus, #12 on BA's top 100) has some sarcastic comments about the fair ball call with the first year CL umpire and gets tossed. Manager Thommy Thompson comes and "goes face to face" with the ump, and of course also is tossed - much to the delight of the crowd.

Bullpen woes up and down the system tonight. Mastny, Tseng, Tomlin all seem to have whatever Jensen Lewis is having. Pray that this plague spares Jeff Stevens.
