D. Dellucci lf
V. Martinez c
J. Peralta ss
T. Hafner dh
R. Garko 1b
F. Gutierrez rf
A. Cabrera 2b

a lineup that plays (in theory) almost as well backwards as it does forwards….

by APV on May 1, 2008 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Wedge expresses tremendous confidence in Hafner but it is not right to leave him in the 3 hole while he is working this out and it will take a while

by palcal on May 1, 2008 6:29 PM EDT reply actions

I just wonder…At what point does Wedge say, “OK, we’ve got a problem and it’s not going away.” And then, what does he do? Move him to 9, not play him/platoon him? Try to trade him?

It's the Arizona talking, really.

way to reward Gutz for being hot … move him from 6 to 8.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

Dellucci

Hafner
Gutz
Peralta
Garko
Blake

what I’d actually like to see is Hafner get diagnosed with some “back stiffness” or something like that, and spend a little time getting his head on straight before walloping AAA pitching in a rehab assignment…then come back to Cleveland.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by westbrook on May 1, 2008 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe he had the LASIK.

by aufrank on May 1, 2008 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions

I would seriously pay for his LASIK if he’d be PRONK for the duration of his contract.

Are we sure this isn’t yet another case of paralysis in the left arm?

I’m having a really bad day, which appears to be translating onto the diamond. My apologies to the LGT community.

Bring in a reliever Wedge.

by mjschaefer on May 1, 2008 8:56 PM EDT reply actions

Wedge will need a quick hook, with a 1-run lead and Buyd pitching in the 8th.

by palcal on May 1, 2008 8:56 PM EDT reply actions

ok – time for the hook.

I can’t decide if this is just an india/indian joke or also a “scalping” joke.

Regardless, this should be the new team logo. Either that or just one red dot.

by mjschaefer on May 1, 2008 9:01 PM EDT reply actions

Wow, Paul Byrd’s turnaround has been almost as good as CC this year. This Ichiro at-bat worries me only because he likes to swing for the fences late in games and two outs, and he’s good at it. Faith in Raffies must be strong, as iron, or steel.

by pdxtribefan on May 1, 2008 9:01 PM EDT reply actions

This would be a good time for the Raffys to turn awesome again.
