interesting lineup, to say the least….

G. Sizemore cf
C. Blake 3b
D. Dellucci lf
V. Martinez c
J. Peralta ss
T. Hafner dh
R. Garko 1b
F. Gutierrez rf
A. Cabrera 2b

by Ryan on May 1, 2008 6:27 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

a lineup that plays (in theory) almost as well backwards as it does forwards….

by APV on May 1, 2008 6:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wedge expresses tremendous confidence in Hafner but it is not right to leave him in the 3 hole while he is working this out and it will take a while

by palcal on May 1, 2008 6:29 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I just wonder…At what point does Wedge say, “OK, we’ve got a problem and it’s not going away.” And then, what does he do? Move him to 9, not play him/platoon him? Try to trade him?

It's the Arizona talking, really.

way to reward Gutz for being hot … move him from 6 to 8.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

You call it 8th .. I call it the bottom of the lineup clean-up spot!

right now, I’d prefer:
Sizemore
Asdrubal
Dellucci
VMart
Hafner
Gutz
Peralta
Garko
Blake

what I’d actually like to see is Hafner get diagnosed with some “back stiffness” or something like that, and spend a little time getting his head on straight before walloping AAA pitching in a rehab assignment…then come back to Cleveland.

by cclemens31 on May 1, 2008 7:28 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Too bad Russ couldn’t play for the Mariners.

by cclemens31 on May 1, 2008 7:35 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

by afh4 on May 1, 2008 7:37 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Looks like both hit HR’s in about 6.4% of their AB’s. While Sexson struck out 26.4%, Branyan struck out 40.4%.
