Who here likes Fausto Carmona?
Hey guys, this is a unique FanPost with an inconsequential message.
I recently purchased my first Indians jersey and did not know what I was doing. I bought one of the new alternate home jerseys with Fausto's number 55 on the back. It's the authentic, high-end one. All well and good except I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to jersey size. So I bought a 52, which is too big for me.
So, you're thinking, just return it! But here's the catch. All player jerseys are considered "custom" because you have to order a specific player. So all sales are final. ANOTHER fact I was not aware of.
So here we are. I've got a brand new, never worn, only tried on Fausto Carmona alternate home jersey, as seen here It's beautiful AND really nice. I wish it fit me. Since we're all friends I might be willing to give a little discount, since the alternative is having to eat the cost. My e-mail is in my profile, feel free to send me a message if you're interested. All general questions can go here.
PS So the thread isn't a complete waste of everybody's time but mine, post here and name the three albums you most recently listened to.

How do jersey sizes work? Can anyone shed light?
Band of Horses-Cease To Begin
The National-Boxer
Fugess-The Score
I imagine it’s like a suit jacket sizes. So that means it’s a 2XL.
Probably fit comfortably on a guy in the 230-250 lb range.
Public Enemy – Fear of a Black Planet
Fiona Apple – When the Pawn..
Radiohead- In Rainbows
What Adam says is the truth. It fits like a XXL

Someone make the Wilford Brimley-sized jersey joke. Do it.

While walking in the park yesterday (here in Chicago) I saw a little league baseball team that was sponsored by Wilco. So cool that band is.

Wilco – Summer Teeth
The Arcade Fire – Funeral
The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank – The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank

I find all the gonzo keyboard production on Summer Teeth can get a little tiresome, but when I saw Jeff Tweedy on one of his solo acoustic tours, those were by far the best songs in terms of lyrics and chords.

I don’t know if this is off-topic or on-topic….but Fausto’s pretty much the unofficial/official LGT favorite Tribe player, right?
Definitely my favorite, obviously. Although the main factor in the jersey selection was the club-friendly contract through 2014. That’s pretty cool too.
There’s the quote from Torii Hunter, the “bug-game”, the ice cold Fausto, the internal development, his domination of Santana last year….
For me, it was watching him play on the Captains five minutes from my house and thinking “damn, this guy is gonna be special.”

That’s an interesting question. Not too many people mentioned him in their list of favorite Indians (although several other current Indians were on people’s lists – including relative newcomers like Cabrera!) I really like Fausto, but I have a feeling people are still a little nervous about him and his control issues this season. I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t really like Fausto and root for him (nothing like the I still don’t like -Cliff Lee undercurrents or the anti-CC hostility that emerged when he was stinking the place up). He’s clearly a popular guy, just not yet on a pedestal.
Love Fausto. The wife wouldn’t even consider the name for our new son. I think she was thinking it is too close to Dr. Faustus. Carsten Charles was suggested but not with much vigor considering he isn’t likely to be on the team for long.
Janes Addiction – Nothing Shocking
Kate Nash – Made of Bricks
ACDC – Back in Black
I’ve always wanted to name a future child Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis. And that would be the only way to address him. Not because I particularly respect the man. It’s just a bad ass name.

Disclaimer: this post doesn't mean what you think it means.
Wow a 52? That’s like me and GFP combined. The two of us could go to Indians games dressed as Fausto Carmona trying to pull off Little Rascals-style pranks on people.

So I was bored and I like listening to new music (interpretation….not wanting to grade 56 5 page papers about Global Biological Changes), so I made a Pandora station and used all the music listed above as seeds. If anyone else is interested in listening to “Lets Go Tribe Radio”, I think you can just click the link below.
http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh23551947134620458
FYI: Not sure if it will show all my other stations, but I want to point out that since we listen at home, my wife makes stations under my account. This accounts for “Celine Dion Radio” and “Carrie Underwood Radio”.
awesome! and then I click the link, get id’ed as having an international IP address…and am sunk. damn.

Guys always blame their wives…..
Seriously though, nice idea. I am actually listening to Pandora right now. I will switch to this station.

saw them at the HOB 2 summers ago? last summer? i forget, but it was right before the last album came out.
You know Selig? Ombudsman.
Because you used the subject line. Consider this a friendly warning; further subject line abuse will cause the system to link to some of those funny pictures on your hard drive.

saw them when I was in college when they were on tour with the okayplayer group including talib kweli et al…it was pretty good
yeah, i was wondering the same thing and then got a hit:
the hold steady – boys and girls in america
m.i.a. & diplo – piracy funds terrorism
wolf parade – apologies to the queen mary
I’m 28, and have seen The Hold Steady twice in the past 2 years.
And man, do I feel old at those shows. But old in a good way.
You know Selig? Ombudsman.
they put on a fun show. looking forward to seeing them again this summer. also, new record coming out fairly soon….
and i feel old at pretty much every show i go to these days (soon to be 32).
more dates announced, and it looks like I’ll be heading to Collinwood in mid-July:
Jul 17 2008 8:00P Beachland Ballroom Cleveland, Ohio
You know Selig? Ombudsman.
By the looks of it LGT readers alone are keeping the indie music scene alive.

Okay, fine, I’ll do it – I was afraid to post this one, but I have nothing to be ashamed of:
Panic at the Disco – Pretty. Odd.
you may just need to find a way to get him to sign it, then frame the thing and put it in your rumpus room. i’ve always wanted a rumpus room – even more than wanting to have hailed from somewhere.
I’m still secretly hoping Jay wants to buy it, as Andrew intimated earlier that it might fit him. I believe Luis also expressed interest. Barring that, yes I will frame it, signed or not, and claim that it was game worn and it will go into my reading room, which is an adult version of a rumpus room.
Currently, the rumpus room has a framed Roger Clemens jersey and picture with stern instructions that say “If you see this man and he pretends to be interested in your country music, run away screaming.”
The real shocking revelation to come out of this thread is that LGT is inhabited mostly by hobbits, elves and other magical folk. It’s not like this is a 5XL! Come on, people. Live a little. Down a Big Mac…..I’m looking at you, Mr. Smart Chili.
I can’t listen to albums when I work because I tend to not notice when they’ve finished & I just sit there like a dope with my headphones on & nothing coming out for an hour or so. In lieu of that, Pandora’s last few played tracks are:
Caribou, Skunks
Mogwai, Team Handed
Radiohead, 2+2=5
Ramones, 53rd & 3rd
Pavement, Unfair
Explosions in the Sky, Greet Death
Superchunk, Driveway to Driveway
Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.
Man, I’d so be all over this if it wasn’t a 52 I think I’m a 50, but it’s been a while since I bought an authentic jersey.
Muse – Black Holes and Revelations
The Hives – The Black and White Album
Metallica – Load
Burn on, big river, burn on...
I’d like to get some other people to weigh in on this but isn’t the number in question the measurement around your chest? If so, the difference between a 50 and 52 should be fairly negligible.
Am I wrong about this? Anyone with some experience they can lend?
This might be useful for you guys
I think 3XL probably makes its too big for me unfortunately…hope you have some luck though Nick

I have the same problem in that I’m normally an XL, and not sure on going up the size for what wouldn’t be a cheap purchase. As it is I’m trying to lose my CC type fat…so not hoping to grow into it! ....must work on all those situps I so much advice about.

All of you Dads with young kids are liars.
The Backyardigans – Born to Play
Soundtrack – High School Musical 2
The Wiggles – Wiggle Bay
And no, I’m not proud of this list.

Had my MP3 stuck on random play lately, been bouncing wildly from Nine Inch Nails, to Tom Jones, to Radiohead, Mamas and The Papas, The Waitresses, Til Tuesday, Lemon Krayola (local band in Phoenix form the early 90s), Jamoroqui, Oingo Boingo … etc. And this setup really only has about one fifth of my music …. I gotta find an 80 meg player so I can have all my music in one place.
I just got an office job. Word amongst the employees is 8 hours of music a day is the only way to stay sane. I will have 8 or 9 albums a day to go through. Now I must find this much music!
