There's always next year...and the next year...and the next year...

I can hear the playoff story now…. “This Cleveland Indians team struggled mightily in the month fo April, not even getting above .500 until May 12th. Now they are just 3 outs away from a world championship.”

by lesterjl on May 12, 2008 7:21 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

let’s play it safe:

surely we’ll have a Marte sighting in game 2 of a doubleheader, right?

by ASP on May 12, 2008 6:57 PM EDT   0 recs

Yeah, Marte’s playing at third; ignore that lineup above. Vic’s at first.

by Fiddlesticks on May 12, 2008 7:13 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Shannon Stewart is leading off for them? Really?

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:13 PM EDT   0 recs

Tyner is out there in left?

by Jeffrey R on May 12, 2008 7:13 PM EDT   0 recs

ryan’s gamethreads are sexier than jay’s.

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He’s going to go 4-4 with four runs batted in.

Just watch.

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

remember that rivas game?

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:16 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I remember A Rivas game where he did really well.

And I remember Jason Tyner hitting his first home run here into the bullpen.

Put two and two together and you get a tremendous game.

Marte makes a play!

by aufrank on May 12, 2008 7:15 PM EDT   0 recs

kangol alert

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:15 PM EDT   0 recs

Kangol alarm, no? Didn’t we have a system for this?

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:16 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

well, it was taped action. i think if that was live game excitement it would have been an alarm.

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Ahh. Well played.

Luis Isaac is known to rock a kangol hat.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

OK, so I went to Wikipedia to learn more about this “Luis Isaac”, and was delighted to discover that

He is well known for his large, well-groomed mustache.

Thanks, Wikipedia!

by aufrank on May 12, 2008 7:28 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Who is he well known by for his mustache?

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Doesn’t look like Cliff has the same command..

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person

by jakesinger777 on May 12, 2008 7:16 PM EDT   0 recs

He commanded a DP, and the infield complied.

by Fiddlesticks on May 12, 2008 7:18 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Tyner in front of Marte?

Really?

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:16 PM EDT   0 recs

Take it.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:17 PM EDT   0 recs

Has this been posted yet? WIll Fanpost if not.
Cliff Notes: Lee’s road back to stardom was a short one

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

by westbrook on May 12, 2008 7:19 PM EDT   0 recs

I haven’t seen it.

It’s pretty dull.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

now that I fanposted it, I can read it.

good story….makes him seem like a great guy even though some on here think he’s a baby eating mass murderer.

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

pretty good… would be better for someone not an indians fan – in that we already know most of the stuff id said.

for those of us angry about tyner starting. think of it as his playing for garko. it made me feel better instantly.

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:19 PM EDT   0 recs

Then what’s Shoppach doing?

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

playing for jason micheals?

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:20 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

but seriously the back-up catcher always plays in a d-h

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:21 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I really like the way Wedge has handled the lineup from game 1 to 2 except for Jason Tyner.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:19 PM EDT   0 recs

just curl up with the remote… everything will be OK

by aufrank on May 12, 2008 7:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Eh. I’m going to play basketball in a second anyway.

And before anyone tries to bring out the book on us:

Tyner vs. RHP: .654
Gutz vs. RHP: . .674

by dgcambridge on May 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

and to make matters worse, gutz is in the lineup too!

err, oops.

by dgcambridge on May 12, 2008 7:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Greg Zaun looks like he could hang out with Sal Fasano. If you know what I mean.

HANG OUT

Another good swing from Astrocab?

by aufrank on May 12, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

it looked pretty good. at least he didnt loop-swing that ball into a popup to left like it seems he’s done 100 times already

by mpstable on May 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i just checked out the mood at the Jays SBN site, to see their thoughts at that powerhouse lineup being used in game2. we’ve got it easy.

But since the Jays haven’t scored over the last 2 games and in fact have only managed 1 run in the 3 games so far in this series, it doesn’t really matter what the lineup is, does it? Put it this way, to be watching the Jays at this point, you’ve got to have some pretty deep-seated emotional and/or mental issues
go get ‘em, cliffy!

by macasson on May 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT   0 recs

I didn’t even know the Jays had a SBN site.

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Every team does. I think.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

wow, suicide watch over there.

by lesterjl on May 12, 2008 7:25 PM EDT   0 recs

IS he at 500 yet?

by Roger Dorn on May 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

IIRC that would be #498.

by Fiddlesticks on May 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I hear he strangled someone’s kitten after the hit. But that’s just Manny being Manny.

by aufrank on May 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Cliff is good

by Roger Dorn on May 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT   0 recs

How in the hell did the Royals amass a 12 game losing streak against the Orioles?

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

i’ll need to get a look at that situation from the panini cam

by Brick. on May 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   1 recs

I don’t think anyone finds the words panini cam as funny as I do. I always imagine a hidden camera show where they catch people doing funny stuff by hiding a camera in a panini.

by afh4 on May 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

How many times do you think they have to mention that per game?

by gahnki on May 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Royals/Orioles game = tree falling in the forest. Who can keep track of such things?

by Fiddlesticks on May 12, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Relax, have a drink. Welcome to paradise.
