Max Ramirez
I always like to keep tabs on our ex-players, and I was browsing around the minor league baseball stats today, look at the line Ramirez has posted so far this year in the AA Texas league (albeit at 23 years old)
| Team | League | AVG | G | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | TB | BB | SO | SB | CS | OBP | SLG | OPS |
| FRI | TEX | .383 | 35 | 128 | 26 | 49 | 9 | 2 | 8 | 26 | 86 | 17 | 30 | 0 | 0 | .453 | .675 |

Good for Ramirez. I was more than a little surprised when I first heard that the main cog in the Wickman trade was an A level catcher, but it appears that Shapiro and the boys made a good call in his acquisition. I myself can't begrudge the Lofton trade, if things had gone a little differently in October it would be universally applauded as a deal that brought in a guy who helped us get to/win a WS, and even though it didn't, it's probably a move you have to make to try to win it all.

What about him?
What does Alex Ramirez have to do with anything?
what does max ramirez have to do with anything – other than that you’re interested in him. if you can keep tabs on a guy that was in the bottom part of our system for one year and come give us updates, i can be reminded of another ramirez that used to actually be on the indians by your posting about this ramirez. which seems to have garnered just about as much interest thus far.
granted, it’s a bit of a thread hi-jack, so i am actually sorry about that.
Alex Ramirez Japan baseball stats. I’d be happy if we brought him back for at least this year. I’m completely serious.
Flags fly forever, right? We couldn’t have come much closer to a pennant.
Doesn’t look like he can stick at catcher, but it definitely looks like he’s not being challenged at this level — a .470 BABIP is almost too high to be flukey, it’s a sign that you’re just a man among boys.
Yeah – he’s always been “old for his league” and has pretty much dominated. Why haven’t teams been more aggressive with him, I wonder?
I wouldn’t say he’s old for his league at this point, and he’s still dominating. Granted, at his age, he probably projects to something more in the Garkoumanoff range as opposed to a true impact bat once he gets to the majors. But that’s still a really good prospect.
I was one of the few that lamented Max being traded (not here, but on another board). I just saw a guy that hit remarkably everywhere he went. There must be some serious defensive issues with Max for a few franchises to use him as trade bait. I guess we will find out when he makes it to the league one day.
But what ya gonna do .. that’s baseball. The trade was necessary and that’s what Texas was able to get off of us. As the wise man Robbie Neville once said .. C’est La Vie.
I didn’t think Robbie Neville had that good of an arm.
