Designated OF Jason Tyner for Assignment
Recalled LHP Jeremy Sowers
Tyner was utterly superfluous, a speedy outfielder on a team that has much better speedy outfielders. So on the same day he ripped the team that gave him two years of extended playing time, he goes onto the waiver wire, impeccable timing on his part. If I were him, I'd consider myself very fortunate to get over 1300 major-league at-bats despite a career OPS+ of 70.
Fun fact: Jason Tyner was selected in the 1st Round (21st pick) of the1998 Draft by the New York Mets, one pick after CC Sabathia.

Tyner
Following the Michaels DFA and Francisco promotion, I found the Tyner move surprising. Now that he has been DFA’d, I am more baffled.
Blake gave Tyner the other key to the safe deposit box that holds the compromising photos of Shap and Wedge.
Wedge found out about it, and called up Tyner just long enough to find the precious key and throw it into the flames of Mordor. But he knows that the original still exists… and now it is up to young Marte to find that damn key, destroy it and unlock his playing time. It’s doubtless to be a long and arduous journey, but at least there is hope.

Let’s Go Tribe: Where I spend valuable work hours thinking of a joke involving Casey Blake and a silly string fight.
Now I’m imagining Blake & Wedge dancing on the giant piano together. If I was at home, I’d probably be Photoshopping this right now.
Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.
I’m laughing hysterically at this right now…please tell me someone is going to do this.

I think it’s time for a FanPost strictly dedicated to Blake-Wedge photoshops. This could be really fun.

I give up on offense. I just give up. I’m going to start watching on the defensive half of the Indians’ innings.
Well, who here’s ready to see General Tsaowers keep the unearned runs streak alive?

I said a similar thing to my friend this week, somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
As a kid, I loved watching Joe Carter and Cory Snyder bat… it was fun when the Indians were at the plate. I couldn’t care less how Rich Yett was handling Kelly Gruber.
Recently, I’ll find myself watching the Indians starting staff do their thing, and flipping to ESPNewsHD while they’re up to bat.

Hard to throw strikes when you’re sticking out of another guys stomach.
I tried to make Paul Reuschel my Avatar, but he didn't fit into the box.

see, I think Cueto is the type of pitcher we will kill – hard throwing, not especially good control

Also taken behind Tyner in that draft: Mark Prior (43rd), Adam Dunn (50th), Barry Zito (83rd), Matt Holiday (210th), and Mark Texiera (265th).
Prior was the #2 overall pick when he signed with the Cubs, so this must have been a prior year. The #1 pick that year was Joe Mauer; these days, they talk about how good a prospect Mauer was and the hometown All-American boy and all that, but I remember that draft and he was taken because the Twins knew they couldn’t sign Prior.
