so garko just a couple ab’s against harang. harang seems just as good against righties and lefties. no real reason to start him there. fausto on the mound. isn’t aubrey’s D supposed to be really good?

Yeah. Dude, he’s not Marte. Of course he’ll get ABs.

My guess is this means JoBo is close to returning. Aubrey will get a quick taste of the majors and a quick look (he’ll play once this weekend, I’d bet) then be back to Buffalo very soon. If JoBo weren’t coming back, they would have to think seriously about bolstering the bullpen, which is one man short and which has a messed-up Betancourt and at least one guy (Breslow) they’re reluctant to use in meaningful situations.
I’m not sure this is good news (the JoBo) part. We will all need to be strong.

If we get 2007-level Brodzoski, throwing better than 78 mph, then the pen should calm down. Betancourt goes back to the eighth (or even seventh) inning. Lewis backs up an inning. Perez can be more versatile, as can Kobayishi.

C’mon people, ya gotta use his full name! Brodzoski (The Close).

If JoBo ever saves more than five games in a row again without blowing a save, I will send you a framed, autographed 8×10 of TV’s Evan Dawson, or some equivalent piece of valuable merchandise.

He’s a legend in his own mind. Kind of a big deal.
Really, I’d like to share your optimism on JoBo, but I can’t. I just can’t.

He’s big in Rochester, I see.
I wouldn’t say I’m optimistic about Joe. But if he just gives us what he gave us last year he has a function. He will still be dodgy, but his presence makes the other bullpen pitchers better.

Raffy R has been so disappointing, yes, but I am drunk on the notion of having a closer who can pitch in, you know, high leverage spots.

I’d like to see Masa take over the closer’s role.
He’s got the New Jersey toughness in him, I know it.

Time to show the league what the deathball is capable of.

as long as masa doesn’t have a small thermal exhaust port right below the main port, we should be fine

I was disappointed to find out the gyroball is just a baseball with a meatballs-and-cheese sub sitting on top of it.

but isn’t it covered in tzatziki? If so, it doesn’t disappoint.

I would eat leather with if it was smothered in tzatziki.

I’d settle for the holocene slaughter if the death ball is not available.
