Tribe claims RHP Perez from White Sox
Perez will be added to the 40-man and sent to Buffalo. He hasn't made his MLB debut, and I'll leave it to the MiLB and stat experts to size him up. Here's his stats. He'll turn 25 shortly after reporting at Dunn Tire Park.
EDIT: here's a link to Castrovince's story on the official website. I'm adding it only to satisfy completists, as it sheds no new light.

having a 40-man roster spot to simply mess around with is fun.

Did we just play an entire series with Cincy and make zero Jon Coutlangus references? I mean, he did get …sent…down…

One was made, don’t worry. It was in reference to Dick Pole.

Moving right along. . . I like what I see of Perez’s pre-2008 stats. Meanwhile, JoBo pitched a successful inning at Lake County tonight, and Rick Bauer collected his 11th save at Buffalo. Here are Bauer’s stats. We need to start thinking radical thoughts, though probably not in the direction that fleerdon is leading us.

That about doubles JoeBo’s successful innings for the year, doesn’t it?

What does it say about me that my reaction to Bauer closing is, “F it. Try it. Why not.”

We did well with the double Raffy’s last year so we are hoping to strike gold with the Perez brothers this year.

No, I tried italicizing to show my humor but it wasn’t obvious enough.
I thought the Perez brother had a ring to it until I saw his first name.
Oneli.
I think whoa-nelly Keith Jackson style fits much better.

Our counterparts over at South Side Sox have a few interesting observations about this transaction—here.

He could’ve been a replacement for Wasserman, who has been sooo goood.
Better for us, I suppose.
I tried to make Paul Reuschel my Avatar, but he didn't fit into the box.

So, he is a finesse pitcher who has lost his finesse?

I can only hope they get Keith Jackson to announce the signing.
