Headline: Casey Blake demoted to 8 hole in lineup after only one game.

by elsandito on May 2, 2008 6:38 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wedge quoted as saying “We needed to bolster the 7-8-9 spots in our lineup to have any chance of winning.”

Are they even going to play?

by mjschaefer on May 2, 2008 6:45 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Doubtful, looks like weather won’t be moving out til after 9.

at least 45-60 minutes until first pitch

Brian Slocum’s gameday photo makes me think he’s the kind of guy who in high school gym class would have thrown the ball at your head but then on the weekend would get drunk at a house party and get all weepy and nostalgic about how you sat next to each other in freshman homeroom. And I’m done…

We’re only playing double headers with the Royals for the rest of the year.

Il faut d'abord durer.

by CU Adam on May 2, 2008 7:16 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I could’ve sworn that they would give Marte the start tonight. Not because of Blake’s play last night, but because the rain would’ve washed away the start, followed by a comment of “He just didn’t show us enough tonight. From not warming up properly, to really not showing up between the hours of 7pm and 8pm…you can’t have your third baseman just take an hour off.”

by supermarioelia on May 2, 2008 7:20 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This just in: CC looked menacingly at the sky and the rain ceased.

by elsandito on May 2, 2008 7:22 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Any news on when we’re starting this?

by supermarioelia on May 2, 2008 7:32 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

this just in: Indians trying to play after the cavs game is over so that the 900 fans who will actually show up to a game in the cold wont be conflicted.

"Mixed emotions. Rather see him hit PEDroia [with that pitch]. I don’t care if he is in the dugout"

I hate to be selfish, but the Indians need to get this game in; if not, the rotation gets bumped back a day and I get someone else on tuesday at yankee stadium instead of Cliff Lee. Eff that.

Well I’m gonna be at Yankee Stadium Tuesday and I would loooove to see Cliff blank the Yankees – just love it!

can you imagine saying this a year ago? relax all our pitchers are good.

by Brick. on May 2, 2008 7:52 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

that’s true. I really want to ride the Cliff train while it’s still a pimp ride.

I mean that professionally.

and btw Chuck, you saw we’re in your section, right? We should be able to focus all the beer rain when the Indians start the arse whooping up in the Heart of Darkness.

Yeah I saw that. S sorry I took so long to respond to this post – my wife had me run to the hardware store to pick up some stuff for our garge sale tomorrow AM. I was hopin to see more LGTers that night. Roger Dorn maybe? emil? Maybe we should put up a Fanshot? I dunno.

BTW I took a shot at royals review earlier. Anybody else tired of his Betancourt BS?

Been tired of it since his second post. Really don’t find him that witty.

Anyone going to the Wednesday game? Girlfriend & I are going to that one, we’re sitting just past the left field foul pole I believe.

Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

And I guess if things get bumped back a day, does that mean I may get to witness Cliff “Cy” Lee? Awesome.

I might be missing something, but with the DH tomorrow and an offday on Monday why is everyone assuming that the rotation will get pushed back a day?

by supermarioelia on May 2, 2008 10:01 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Radar map looks like there’s a lot more rain on the way, though the heavy stuff looks to have passed. Might be Cavs only for a while yet.

Complete OT, but I saw Iron Man today: It was absolutely fantastic.

And cooked him and ate him.

But don’t worry, I’m waiting for the Celts to get ahold of ‘em. LeBron’s gonna be cryin’ like his tatoo “artist” died. It’s gonna be epic I tell ya.

Celtics are down at the end of the 3rd quarter. Wont’ last, but nice to see ya sweat!

Hawks up 4 with 6 minutes to play. Pierce has 5 fouls. Really good game.

by DaytonDogg on May 2, 2008 10:29 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hate to say it Chuck (well, not really), but your Boston team looks like they have the composure of a 5th grade CYO team.

by DaytonDogg on May 2, 2008 10:38 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Celtics lose in Atlanta again. Cavs get some extended rest for their series with Boston (or Atlanta!).

by DaytonDogg on May 2, 2008 11:02 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hopefully just long enough to forget how to play defense.

If Atlanta somehow pulls this off it will be the most embarrassing thing for Boston since the Super Bowl. (oh those assholes deserve it).
