So I was checking out the Individual stats page today on ESPN.com... and have some very depressing facts for everyone.

Indians in the top 40 (ML) in Runs Scored: None
Indians in the top 40 in Hits: None
Indians in the top 40 in Doubles: None
Indians in the top 40 in Homers: None
Indians in the top 40 in RBI: None
Indians in the top 40 in Slugging: None
Indians in the top 40 in OPS: None
Indians in the top 40 in Walks: ONE! YAY! CONGRATS, Mr. Sizemore.
Indians in the top 40 in Steals: ONE! YAY! CONGRATS, Mr. Sizemore.
Indians in the top 40 in Avg: ONE! YAY! But thats one more than this man has home runs.

How is it possible that 46 games into a season, a healthy Victor hasn’t hit a homer?

He’s a team guy. Trying not to make the other guys on the team look bad. Or, perhaps that’s how you demonstrate grit. You do poorly at something, then work extremely hard to do it better, kick a few buckets, etc. One could go on

I also suspect he’s not seeing a lot of good pitches, given who’s hitting around him, and he’s always been the kind of hitter who takes what’s given and doesn’t try to force things. That’s what makes him good.

Do we know for sure that he’s healthy? Remember he came up lame on opening day.

I think he’s still nursing the leg injury. Two years ago was very similar – he had nagging leg injuries throughout the year that never would heal completely due to catching. It didn’t affect his avg so much, but his power disappears.
