Something of a first here … I’m posting while recording a jazz concert. Using a computer-based recording system, hooked up to some guy’s wifi.
Cool. When you guys book new clients, do you go out and watch them play live? Probably a dumb quesiton.
I like to, but you’d be surprised, a lot times we don’t end up seeing an artist live until the CD release event. For others, seeing them live initiates the relationship. And many artists feel it’s really important that you would bother to come see them — something I actually agree with.
My little not-at-all-serious acoustic project is going to record this year, and the dude from the studio has been out to see us. We felt it was pretty cool.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.
I’ve heard but not extensively listened to Parker but I love Baraka and Dave Burrell is one of my favorite pianists.
By the way, why was everyone saying that Wedge left CC in too long? Was it because
1) Our bullpen is obviously stellar, or
2) We’re feeling results-oriented right about now
he was over 100 pitches, was getting hit hard, not sure if either of those is correct, whatever

By the way, not a bad crowd given the crap weather that preceded the start.
I dig rain, just not sitting in cars in the rain.
My wife (a photographer who recently quit her job as a forensic chemist) had to take pictures in the rain for three hours today. Pictures of uber-wealthy people watching the derby, straight out of the polo game scene from Pretty Woman.
My husband is from Louisville, so we might have watched the Derby for his sake. I’m glad I didn’t, given the outcome.
I forgot what a lightweight I’ve turned into. This… might be a problem.

Everybody screws up in baseball. I don’t think there’s much point in faulting a guy who is as incredible as Vic.
